Baby Sweet Tooth

Baby Sweet Tooth was born in the summer of 2009 from chance encounters at open stage jam sessions. What began as a nebulous rotation of musicians solidified into the power trio of guitarist and vocalist Ali Monge, drummer John Wood, and bassist Luke Matthews. Members have spent time wandering around Argentina, Alaska, and all over the east coast gathering experiences to fuel the creative process. The diversity of musical influences culminates in songs that sound like they are grown and developed, rather than composed.

Live shows are an energetic mix of originals and funked-up versions of indie rock covers. Often songs build up to the point where the music cannot end; instrumental passages will lead into improvised segues while the hard hitting rhythm section of Luke and John keeps the audience pulsing and dancing while frontman Ali engages the audience with melodic leads and interactive wordplay. Baby Sweet Tooth pays homage to the godfather of rock, funk, and soul, while drawing from diverse music backgrounds to create lush songs and perpetual grooves for the ever-growing fanbase.
