"NYC band Bacci brings its sexy blend of folk, funk and hip-hop to The Loft"

November 23, 2006

"Bacci just might be the first ever folk hip-hop group. Born of a seemingly mismatched but hot marriage between Grandmaster Flash and Joni Mitchell, the four-piece band blends acoustic folk with old-school hip-hop to create what Bacci is loosely calling "funky folk." - MICHAEL ZITZ, The Free Lance-Star (Fredericksburg, VA)

"Album Review of More"

Issue Date: 9/14/06
Section: Entertainment

"More" has a combination of laid-back, guitar-driven songs with a sound similar to Jack Johnson, with touches of Jason Mraz's tongue-in-cheek rapping. Add a touch of the turntables and you have a sound that is uniquely Bacci." - ALISON JALBERT, The Circle (Marist College)

"More (album review)"

Dec. 10, 2006

"Vocalist Peter Bagale's acoustic guitar is the weapon of choice for the band, leaving much more ambient space in the mix for Bagale's voice, which sounds eerily like Jeff Buckley at times." - JON FASSNACHT, Reading Eagle-Times

"Bacci: NY singer/songwriters bring an urban twist to The Pub"

January 18, 2007

"Mixing a singer-songwriter type of formula with an urban hip-hop twist brings many music lovers back to the days of legendary group Sublime, when acoustic guitar and smooth bass lines could be successfully combined with sharp beats and creative raps." - RYAN D. BEARDSLEY, Williamsport Sun-Gazette

::ABOUT BACCI::
Peter Bagale and Paul Amorese started BACCI in 2002 after parting ways with funk-based Milkhouse.

Consistently recruiting new fans up and down the Northeast, the West Harlem (via Rochester) duo has refined their mix of folk, funk and hip-hop into a classic sound. Guitarist Peter Bagale and drummer, Paul Amorese put an urban twist on the tried and true singer/songwriter formula.

The bands lastest studio effort, MORE, was mixed by studio pro Jamie Siegel (Lauryn Hill, Joss Stone, Mary J. Blige). More generates an original sound that fearlessly connects the dots between the far- reaching genres of folk, soul, and hip-hop.

Front man Peter Bagale's flexible pipes swiftly jump between quick-lipped raps on "Sunny Days" and soulful serenades featured on tracks like "Secret Plan", cementing Bacci's ever-growing fan-base among both male and female listeners.

Bacci newcomer DJ Flow brings More to the tables on tracks like "Real" and "Recess Time", adding a much-welcomed hip-hop dynamic to the band..s instrumental hooks. Chris Northington's subtle bass lines call to mind the relaxed style of Sublime's Eric Wilson, while Paul Amorese's snare happy drum rolls round out Bacci's self proclaimed "funky folk music."

The obvious spotlight shines on Bagale's songwriting - raw, real, and from the heart. Bacci writes everyday music for Everyman - not too overwhelming or overproduced, but catchy enough to keep your toes tapping from start to finish.

Bacci continues to tour the Northeast as they recruit new fans among the college circuit. The group has opened for national recording artist Teitur and have established residency at New York City's K-Lounge with guests ranging from Taye Diggs to Puff Daddy.
