Biography

Back Hall Zoo burst onto the Atlanta music scene in 2005 and has developed a diverse following through a series of successful shows at several of Atlanta’s most renowned smaller venues. In Back Hall Zoo’s first year together as a band, the group has become regular performers at many of the top clubs in Atlanta and has performed with such national acts as Kyle Gass of Tenacious D and The Patrick Smith Band.

Back Hall Zoo prides itself on keeping its fans entertained and on their toes through live concert experiences that are not duplicated. Back Hall Zoo draws its sound from blues and classic rock to funky jazz. With innovative original material and unique takes on classics, Back Hall Zoo appeals to a diverse audience in terms of both age and musical tastes.

The six members originate from across the U.S., but all attended college at either Emory University or The University of Georgia. Each member brings his own experiences from past collaborations and musical training to form a chemistry that evolves in new directions with each performance. At each live show, Back Hall Zoo brings new material and arrangements to its ever growing and loyal fan base.

In May of 2006, Back Hall Zoo released their first EP, titled Fresh Tracks. The six original tracks represent two months of work at Highland Audio Studios in Atlanta.

A mix of 50% original and 50% covers. Covers typically are classic rock from bands like JJ Cale, Traffic, The Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic
