"Simcoe Life Newspaper"

[Excerpt taken from the October issue of Barrie and Simcoe Life Newspaper]

So to Back In The Attic (BITA) to finish off the evening. These guys are a little older; around 18 and you could sense the confidence that comes with age. Now, I want to make it clear that the three bands I heard this evening were all freakin’ amazing! However, and by reason of personal taste only, BITA were the icing on the cake of that evening. They are the best new band I have heard this year, hands down. With their BITA Dance Troup in tow (I kid you not) this was a revelatory performance. Lucky me, I get ‘em fresh out of the box! Y’see, I like to dance, and if I can’t dance for fear of making a fool of myself, I like to be able to tap my feet, like having the engine ticking over before the full on Napoleon Dynamite dance experience is unleashed. BITA was a delicious dish to dance and listen to. The songs are strong; the performance is air-tight but so relaxed and so confident that they could jam to the crowd while the BITA dance troop held a dance-off with Tokyo Showdown! The audience loved it, as they should.

Musically this was another brilliant display – it just sounded so incredibly right, like there was a formula for awesome music and they nailed it. There is a taste of Franz Ferdinand to this group BUT someone in the band dug out their Dad’s copy of ‘Faith’ by The Cure because those bass lines were all over this show – this is a GOOD THING! - Jonathan Holt

Bio

Back In The Attic was formed in early 2005 with the intention of making fun music for people to enjoy. After a short search to complete the band, Mike LeRiche, Mat Madore and Jason Madore found Johno Brown and headed into the studio to record their first demos. The next few months were spent practicing, writing and playing local shows before heading back into the studio in November of 2005 to record their first release. What resulted was a six song EP entitled "...Just Be Thankful You're Not A Zombie And Bust A Groove". After a number of months being the band 'mom', it was decided that Gary Hampton join the band on keys; so that is what he did.
Currently BITA is searching to play anywhere that will have them, recently opening for Sleeper Set Sail. With plans and intentions of fun shows containing as much crowd interaction as possible, the boys are ready to be heard.
