"Battle of the Bands Reveiw"

"The next act of the evening was Back Pocket Material. They started by playing their rolling stones cover, a jazzy rendition of Miss You. Max Mackeigan kept the crowd going with his bouncing bassline. Next they played an original song which i did not catch the name of but it was writen by 'yours truley Max Mackeigan over here'. It started with a ery intro reminicient of Pink Floyd, and went into a beautiful song. Over all it was a great performance. - Glacebay Gleaner

Bio

Back Pocket Material(BPM) was formed in the summer of 2005, By Viktor Dugandzic, Jeff Fedora, Max Mackeigan and Jermey Mesics. In January of 2006, things got more serious, as Viktor, Max, and Jermey realized their passion for music was just a hobby for Jeff. Jeff Fedora eventually was kicked out of the band. BPM, played a few small shows, a coffee house at their Jr. High School, and a few birthday parties, when they decided to recruit Max's friend/ former band mate Jordan Bruliegh on guitar. They took a trip to Shelburne NS for a show that summer and through that summer and into the fall, a rift was comming between drummer Jermey Mesics, and the rest of the band. he would miss rehersals, and shows, leaving the band to put the multi-talented Jordan Bruleigh on drums. It was during this that a friend of the band pointed out the improvement in their sound when Jordan was playing drums. In January of 2007 Jermey Mesics and BPM parted ways. The band wasted no time signing up for the Savoy Theatre's Battle of the Bands which was to take place every Tuesday from Febuary Til April until one band was left victorious. At this point no one had really taken notice of BPM, so they were very egar to play their first show at the Theatre, which is a historic Venue in Nova Scotia. The very first show the judge's reactions we're "Who are you, and way have i never heard you before?" and "You should come out more often, i like what i heard." After 2 months and some great times, including the March break show in which the band received a standing ovation and was declaired the act to see of the night after playing a dazling rendition of "Stairway To Heaven", It was Finalie Night, and There were 2 bands left, In The End they won, taking home 250 dollars and free recording time with smashbox studios. After completeing recording late may, BPM had some exposure and a steady line up of shows. During Summer 2007 BPM played with Hedley, Faber Drive, Trooper, and played a sold out venue in shelburne with a band local to shelburne. Back Pocket Material are currently active locally in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
