Backrive

BackRive started out as a 5 piece melodic hard rock band which was established in late 2002 in the small town of Clewiston, FL. The band's push comes from it's multi-frontman duo. The band’s members had all been playing music since they were in early middle school but finally decided to form what is now known as BACKRIVE in their final year of high school . The members of BackRive are all between the ages of 19-22. The lyrical content of Backrive’s music is shared throughout the band. It consists of the cards we are dealt everyday in this unpredictable game that we were born into called life.

In mid 2003, Backrive contacted independent producer, Josh Bond. Backrive, being independent artists, were on a very short budget to record a demo that would do them justice. With that, they launched a redesigned WWW.BACKRIVE.COM.

In 2004, Backrive made the move to Orlando to further their musical career and started performing at clubs, venues, and festivals throughout South and Central Florida. They have played at venues such as Hard Rock Live (1000+), HOUSE OF BLUES Orlando, O-ROCK’S ROCK FOR NO REASON, Kelsey Club, The Metal Factory, Backbooth, THE HAVEN LOUNGE etc... They have shared the stage with such acts as Trivium (Roadrunner Records), Soil, Through You (Parafora Music), Indorphine,TREAL, Techn9ne Rising Up Angry, Irrational, Simplekill, Stoic (Day Job Manufacturing), and many many more.

Determined to keep moving forward in their career, the members of Backrive decided to take a break to rewrite their current 3 song EP as well as write some new songs to make a full length album. During the writing process they decided that it would be in their best interest to add a second guitarist. They found the search to be surprisingly easy. Jake Sullivan, a good friend from the band's hometown was the first person that came to mind. Coincidently, Jake was experiencing internal conflicts with his band Artifical Theory and was more that happy to join the Backrive Family. In December of 2006, Backrive began tracking their full-length album at The Porch Studios with engineer Tim Lau of Laud Productions and producer Bobby Burns(bassist of soulfly). The recording process lasted 6 months and is currenty being mixed and mastered. This album is to be released in January of 2008.

Now Backrive is hitting the scene harder than ever fully equiped with an arsenal of thier heaviest and most melodic songs to be released yet. Their high energy level of their live performances keep their fans returning again and again. If there is one thing for sure, this band's dedication keeps winning fans over everywhere they go. This band is set on making a mark on the music industry one show at a time.
