If there has ever been a perfectly balanced blend of talent, passion and respectability, it can be found in Backstroke. Although new to the scene, Jon Scott(Lead vocals, Bass), Brian Powers(Guitar, Vocals) and Daniel Livingston(Drums, Vocals) are anything but rookies. Each member has had their fair share of experience on the road, in the studio and on the stage either in previous bands or as solo artists. With ages ranging from 24-29, the members of Backstroke are old enough to have developed their skills and learned to respect the business, yet young enough to appeal to a wide audience.
Formed in early/mid 2006, the three piece has been hard at work writing material and preparing to unleash themselves on the world. With influences ranging from bands like King’s-X, Nickleback and Tool to Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley and The Beatles and everything in between, their style is a unique sound that can’t fit into any one category.
With Jon’s soaring vocal range and thunderous bass, Brian’s crushing yet tasteful guitar riffs and Daniel’s powerful, solid drum work all topped with King’s-X style harmonies, Backstroke is a force to be reckoned with.
Fans want a music experience that their souls can echo, their lives can relate to and their bodies can move to and Backstroke can and will deliver just that!
