Bio

Backyard Superheroes is a ska-punk based out of Central Jersey. They started in January 2012 as a pop-punk band with Josh on guitar and vocals, Matt on rhythm guitar, Greg on bass and Mark on drums. Josh, Greg and Mark were also part of the locally known ska band Unbearable Slackers.

Once they had a few songs done, they decided to add a few members on horns, so in came Gary on alto/tenor sax and Ryan on trombone. After their first show in May 2012, Mark decided to part ways and leading to Phill Serzan joining on drums. At this time, Bruce also joined in on trumpet, finally giving the Backyard Superheroes their first full line up.

Over the next few months they gigged and wrote new songs, eventually leading up to an EP release, "Falling With Style" that was released in September 2012.

Soon after, Phill left the band for personal reasons and Kevin, drummer of Stereotypical, joined Backyard Superheroes. They continued to gig and write new music over the next few months.

Backyard Superheroes is a wild, zany, crazy and eccentric group of guys who are in the band with one intention: putting on a show that nobody can forget. Whether it's making the crowd sing like little girls in "Pop Punk Fairy Tale," Gary running around the room with his sax (and short shorts) in "Chill Out, Dude!" or having the crowd skank along to "Show Me Your Moves," one show is all it takes to get an entire set list stuck in your head for days.
