Bio

Bad James is incredibly well rounded musically because they draw on such a wide variety of influences which makes the group appealing to everyone no matter what you're into.

Band influences include Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Time, Parliament, Sly and the Family Stone, Kris Kristofferson, Dr. Dre and many more.

Bad James started in 2006 when 4 great like-minded musicians got together and let it groove on voodoo child by Jimi Hendrix, they then began cutting their teeth at the blues jam at the now defunct Cude Cafe with Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo. This where they really became a band and learned how to feed off each other. However, the blues couldn't contain the band's musical passions so the band began branching out and mixing influences such as Jimi's showmanship, Parliament's grooves, and Prince's funk comping to their already solid blues base.

Since then Bad James has shared the stage with great local bands such as Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo, Clovis Mann, Chafo, and Paul Filipowicz and have packed venues such as the Cuda Cafe, the Klinic and Lucky's Bar and Grille. In 2007 they were honored by winning the MATC BATTLE OF THE BANDS adding to their reputation for having one of the best live acts around.

The quote that best describes the band is this

“In this world of DJ’s, Karaoke and video game guitar heroes, it’s encouraging to hear a band like Bad James; four young musicians that actually play. These guys play with real fire and conviction, and have the technical ability to please even the most seasoned ears. If you have a chance to catch them live, do it. You won’t be disappointed. With Bad James on the musical horizon, the future of live music is in very good hands.”
- “Cadillac” Joe Andersen of The Cadillac Joe Andersen Blues Band, The Joe Andersen Jazz Organ Group, and Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo
