"It is with pleasure I give my view as an agent on the talent and professionalism of Brooke Nickel, the singer, performer, and musician.
Brooke was playing bass and fronting a band at a local venue the first time I saw her perform. It was obvious she had a gift. She was 14. A few years later I was hearing from musicians in Saskatoon, SK, that there was this amazing young singer who wasn't old enough to be a customer in the bars blowing people away singing Janis Joplin & Heart songs at jams and playing on Broadway Ave with her band.
Rehearsals started for a commercial/corporate cover band as she turned 19 and this is where our profession relationship began. Brooke was already a veteran performer and knew how to front a band, read an audience, and SING. Her band quickly rose to the top of our roster, performing at large private corporate shows, Curling Canada's Tournament of Hearts, Women's World's, the Rockin' the Fields of Minnedosa concert, and many others. She is at ease with an audience of 200 or 2500.
Brooke has never missed a show with us, and is focused and serious about performing. She has driven through prairie blizzards to get to gigs. She is one of the greats that can sing when her talking voice is gone due to a cold etc. Brooke brings "the business" and I am sure, given the chance, her original project will be a success."

BADKITTY is an original rock band based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Small but fierce female lead Brooke Cherry Nickel will purr her way into your heart, and then claw her way through your soul with the roar of her emotive vocals. The stage is shared with a pride of wild and talented musicians that will stimulate your primal instincts with fiercely growling guitars overtop of feral beats.
BADKITTY features rock and roll sweetheart Brooke Cherry Nickel, supported by Dave Postnikoff, Myk Ulan-Hohol, and Zakk Strelioff. Influenced by a unique string of both classic and modern tastes that are woven throughout their songwriting, a tapestry of exciting, new, and yet familiar rock and roll is created. It’s a unique blend of their love for the legacy of rock and roll, mixed with their passion to bring it into the future with a reimagined approach and contemporary flair. A tightly wound rhythm section pulls you in, while the heavy yet even-handed lead guitar styling wraps itself around your finger. Brooke writes from a personally experienced perspective of everyday life and relationships that will both comfort you and corner you, with a voice that isn’t afraid to do the same. BADKITTY draws upon relational ideologies such as pain and pleasure, reminding you that you are not alone.
The group focus is to be the band that they want to see and hear, with intent to create music that is exciting, energetic, and inspiring. The group aims to empower those who need it most. The goal is to dismantle the misogynistic and chauvinistic attitude of stereotypical rock culture of the past, while reigniting the essence of rock and roll for the future. BADKITTY aims to change the rules for the modern world by selling spirit instead of sex. Their dynamic perspective of being a female fronted group gives them an opportunity to step into a world that has been dominated by men in the past, with hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams, no matter what they may be. Though BADKITTY can be sweet tempered, they remain untamed when it comes to rock n’ roll.
