Bio

One of the most talented rap artists in the game today, Bad Luk is a veteran west coast emcee determined to be heard by the masses. The hip-hop world is flooded with artists, making it rare to see someone who can stand out with the raw lyrical content & skills it takes to hold his own.

Bad Luk reigns from Seattle where he first discovered his passion for hip-hop as a kid in the early 90's. In his teenage years, Bad Luk realized he had a natural ability write rhymes. He took on the name “Lucky Lotto” and started laying down tracks in the studio with his cousin Cautious (founder of Young & Restless Music). The two had grown up together and began working closely for years. Cautious was related by marriage to the musically talented Newton twins who co-produced the Miseducation of Lauren Hill album.

Dealing with the tragic loss of his mother in 2000, the name “Lucky Lotto” became miscast & “Bad Luk” was conceived. With nothing to lose, Bad Luk moved to Newark, New Jersey to pursue music opportunities with the Newtons. During his 2 years on the east coast, Bad Luk continued sharpening his skills & style. He recorded a collection of tracks with an array talented east coast artists, such as Young Zee from the Outsidaz.

Bad Luk returned home to Seattle with big plans to get his city buzzin' again, but it wasn't going to be easy. In the northwest, rap artists are forced to aggressively promote their music if they want attention from major labels. Determined to progress, Bad Luk reunited with his old camp Black Cloud Entertainment & got back to business in the booth.

His fan base spread quickly after the release of his first Mix-Tape “Street Rotations” in 2004 and it wasn't hard to see somewhat of a cult-like following was beginning to emerge around him. To top it off, Bad Luk became known as Seattle's most untouchable battle rapper, annihilating the competition and ending up in the finals 2 years in a row at the “Brainstorm” national freestyle battle. But that wouldn't be enough.

Realizing it was time to make bigger moves, Bad Luk focused on the heart of west coast hip-hop in southern California, eventually calling it home in late 2006. He was joined in SoCal by his cousins, Cautious and Mi-Keyz who are brothers. Mi-Keyz began producing at age 15 and over the last 5 years has become Bad Luk's right hand man skillfully fusing the sound together.

Bad Luk's music grabs your attention and takes you for a ride on the beat as he entertainingly manipulates words to get his point across. Listen to his new hit single “Top of the World” (featuring Young & Restless artist Kellee Lee) and you know Bad Luk is claiming his real estate in the hip-hop world. With over 100 hit songs already in the archives, the next 100 will shape the standard for future hip-hop.
