"Lots of towns, lots of people, ain’t met them all
Lots of roads, lots of bridges, still left to cross
One too many times, we’ve talked about just getting away
Now, I’m leaving….leaving to stay"
Too Late for Goodbye - Bobby Wayne

The Players:
Bobby Wayne - Lead Guitar/Lead Vocals
Matt Faranelli- Guitar/Keyboard
Shannon farmer - Bass/Harmony Vocals
Arie Bird - Drums

The Music:
Originals have a unique sound which is a cross between red dirt, southern/okie rock, and country. Some songs favor certain genre’s while other’s may not (that’s one of the best things about their CD “Southern Purified…all the songs don’t sound the same)…. Badwater also plays some cover songs as well including many written by regional performers (Cross Canadian Ragweed, Great Divide, Jason Boland, Pat Green) and others by nationally known artists (Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Georgia Satellites, Hank Williams Jr., Steve Earle, Jonny Lang, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn).

With inspirations from southern rock, red dirt, alternative country and blues, Badwater is setting a new standard and style! Badwater has been rockin’ their way into the music scene since 1999. In August 2003 the band released it's first all original CD - "Southern Purified" recorded at Reel Time Audio in Denton, TX. Badwater has played numerous gigs in northwest Arkansas (Dave’s on Dickson-Fayetteville; Dawn Hill-Siloam Springs; Crazy Horse Saloon-Prairie Grove) and northeast Oklahoma (Roxie’s Roost-Tahlequah; Steel Horse-Kansas). Recently, the band has branched out to other areas of Oklahoma (Red Dirt Café-Norman; Wormy Dog-Stillwater; Fishbonz-Tulsa; Wormy Dog-Oklahoma City; Mine Company-Enid; VIP-Alva; Planet Rock-Ponca City, Country Palace-Elk City) and Texas (The Rock-Deep Ellum; Coyote Ugly-Dallas; Golden Light Cantina-Amarillo) and have had the opportunity to play with many great bands (Bad Company’s Brian Howe, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cooder Graw, Robert Earl Keen, No Justice, Stoney Larue & the Organic Boogie Band, Bleu Edmonson, Jake Moffat, Travis Kidd, and Bonepony). The band has now gone full time and plan on branching out even further into the Oklahoma, Texas, and the Kansas music scene to bring their brand of music to additional music fans….even if it has to be one fan at a time.

"The Current Music Mag CD Review"

Badwater
Straight From the Tap
Independent release

Tahlequah based red dirt rock outfit Badwater is back with its second soulful release, Straight From the Tap.
Led by an even more mature Bobby Hogshooter, this coming of age album reveals Hogshooter’s life story with more of a Steve Earle and Cody Canada edge and less classic country crooning. That’s not to say Straight From the Tap is a lighthearted collection of folk tunes – this album is for all the true Okies that know about watching the sunrise, hitting dirt roads with a case of cold ones and balling on a budget.
These are the themes ever present on tunes like “Rockin’ into the Night” and “Cheap Whiskey.” But the other tunes pull from a variety of influences, like “She’s All Mine,” which carries AC/DC and KISS on its shoulder, and sounds ready to fill stadiums around the world.
What makes this band sound so large and varied is its current lineup, which features Hogshooter on guitar and lead vocals, Ian Sullivan on lead guitar, Rodney Buckhorn on bass and Arie Bird on drums. Straight From the Tap sounds like it came straight off the soundboard and that adds to the fact that this group is tighter than ever.
Go see them for yourself and pick up your copy of their new release when Badwater takes the stage for the weekend of May 23-24 at Whiskey Jim’s in Tahlequah. They’ll also be performing at Max’s Garage in Muskogee on May 17, where you can pre-order your copy at the bands’ merch table.
