Bio
Formed in NYC in 2000, and named after a garbled wording of everyone's favorite red and white American beer, the members of Bad Wizard are a combination of North and South; front man Curtis Brown hails from North Carolina (and at one time coached a little league team in Georgia), while guitarists Tina Gorin and Eddie Lynch are native Long Islanders. The resulting sound and spirit of the band is a righteous blend of Southern-fried boogie and true New York grit.
After tearing up the asphalt across North America for the last several years, and playing every imaginable type of gig from the dive-iest biker bar to the Kentucky Derby, Bad Wizard earned the reputation as one of the fiercest live acts in the land. In 2005 they were invited to play the ATP festival in Camber Sands, England, where they were received so well by the audience that they were asked to play an unheard of second slot at the festival, and then open for Slint the following night at Londons Forum theatre.
Upon their return to the States, the band traveled to the LA studio of Jennifer Herrema (Royal Trux, RTX) to record their next record. Sky High, the band's fourth full length CD, was released by Howler Records in February, 2005.
