Biography

Bag of Toys is a quartet creating the best acoustic surf rock in Northern California. Beginning with a few appearances at a small open-mic showcase, the group has quickly risen up the venue circuit of San Francisco and has since continued to entertain the masses in the Bay Area at venues such as The Independent and Slim's while providing opening act support for groups such as Fishbone and The Expendables. In less than one year from its early 2006 release, Nooner, the 12-song debut CD from Bag of Toys has been sold in all 50 states as well as over 15 other countries while propelling them to the top of the rankings for unsigned acoustic artists on the ever-popular <http://myspace.com/>myspace.com. In 2007, "Share", one of the band's original songs from Nooner, was prominently featured on a national television commercial for the Microsoft Zune. Building on this upward momentum, the band will continue to spread their sound through exciting live performances and the creation of more original music that will give you that feeling you get right after you sneeze.

The foundation of Bag of Toys started when Robert Tait began writing songs at the age of 14. The Pacific Ocean lured Robert out to San Francisco and, in 2003, he found support in the melodic guitar playing of Steve Cowgill. Seeking to fill out the sound, the duo perused the internet for a rhythm section and, after too many strange audition experiences, finally found a perfect fit with Joe Schewe holding a bass and Robert Stadler behind a drum set . The quartet then spent the early part of 2004 in Robert Tait's apartment molding his creations into the infectious sound that has become Bag of Toys.

Surf Song

Written By: Robert Tait

Cruising to the beach in my piece of shit
Got my surfboard jammed in and it barely fits
The sun pouring down and it floods the dash
Hula girls sways as I find my stash

Thumping hands tap to the beat of the street
The back sweating hard sticking to the seat
Got the Sublime pumping on the stereo
But my heads still thumping from the night before

But that's Okay, That's okay another day on it's way

Well the window's rolled down and the peddle to the floor
But the fog bank looms just a mile off of shore
It's only 10 am and the beach is packed
The girlies in thongs got my mind all sacked

Well the new swell is here and it's starting to show
Got the offshore winds and they're ready to blow
Pull out the board, wax up the stick
The duct-taped dings seem to do the trick

But that's Okay, That's okay another day on it's way
It's a beautiful day (yeah)
It's a beautiful day

Paddle out and dish it up, pull it back again
Rip it up and pull it up, feel like a friend
Find another day,
Complain another day,
Cuz everything melts away in a wave
Until you pour it out and pull it up, give it what you've got
Jack it up and fill it up, take it to the next notch
Take it all the way it's a beautiful day
Take it all the way, Yeah,
It's a beautiful day (yeah)
It's a beautiful day
Na, na, bla, bla, bla...

Sprinting across the sand, burn off my feet
Hit the surf running and don't miss a beat
Take my place bobbing, out in the swell
Turn and spin and paddle like hell

Feel the wave grabbing and jump to my feet
A bottom carve turn like I've never seen
Six quick snaps and a floater inside
kick out the back, a nice fucking ride

But that's Okay, That's okay another day on it's way
It's a beautiful day (yeah)
It's a beautiful day

The Raven

Written By: Robert Tait

Wake up in the morning / a suicidal warning
Pull the shades back up to expose the sun
Walk outside or get a ride just get your ass there on time
Cuz we'll leave without everyone

we never did.

Everyone knows where to meet/Just behind pier 23
Don't forget your 12 pack of beer
The weathers great I have to say It's gonna be a perfect day
And we haven't lost a single life yet
we never did...never did, never did, never did...

Oh! Drink it on up, tilt it on back and pass the rest on
Oh, Don't let these days pass you by, cuz they won't last that long

Rich is making drinks down stairs / Pass him down the empty beers
Could someone pass another one up?
Kinda sacked, the boat is packed / Christeen's puking off the back
If the coast guard see's us, man, we're fucked

but they never did.

Brady's got the music wired / The Bob Marley's still required
To get this vessel all in the mood
Get to Sam's is all we've plannned / Docking we could sure use a hand
Before the waitress brings us our food
she never did...never did, never did, never did...

Oh! Drink it on up, tilt it on back and pass the rest on
Oh, Don't let these days pass you by, cuz they won't last that long

I'd like to see, be it, feel it, need it,
Don't repeat the shit your seeing, dealing with the feeling that your needing (its a)
long ride, high...tide...brain's fried, I think it's done, I think it's leaking out the other side
Go low, so-lo, ain't got no posse cuz their getting loaded on the boat
I'd like to see, be it, feel it, need it,

Oh! Drink it on up, tilt it on back and pass the rest on
Oh, Don't let these days pass you by, cuz they won't last that long

More Sex Than Me

Written By: Robert Tait

Every night I'm down/I'm down I take it
Listening to the sounds, the walls their shakin'
Bang/Bang/banging on floor boards
That shit is driving me crazy

Can't stand the rumors but they're coming on
Might as well just lay down and get it on
Banging on the town and down you make it
One more sound I hear, I can't take it

It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around

Every morning, afternoon and evening
Big o pieces Plaster falling from the ceiling
It's a crack down / Down to the floor boards
Every day reminding me to get more

Everyone's talking about their all night session
Work is all a buzz, a buzz of confessions
and all I got are tales of shit that I heard
(through the walls) God damn I need to get a girl

It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around

I got the tension, did I mention
my twisted point of view to you
Cuz it's nothing I can't get through
It's just this banging, that I'm hating
Always reminding me of you
and the shit that we we used to do...
It's got me falling, all recalling all the balling and the stalling

It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
It always seems like everybody/Everybody I know/
Every body's getting more sex than me
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around
I said Hey! I said Ho! Fooling around I said/Fooling around
