Bal&Kan (yannis papaioannou trio)

"YANNIS PAPAIOANNOU, Franco Molinari, Aniol López trio, is the personal project of Iannis Papaioannou, oud player and multi-instrumentalist.
It’s in the city of Barcelona where Yannis through the interpretation of different musical styles on various projects (Arabic, flamenco, jazz, Cuban music), manages to find its own way of expression.
With a repertoire of original compositions and a sound that moves between the traditional and the modern, the trio offers a new vision of Mediterranean music.

Bal&Kan

As sweet as honey (Bal) but full of blood (Kan). With these two turkish words Balkan peninsula finds a precise etymology for its character.
Yannis Papaioannou originary of Thessaloniki, the most cosmopolitan Balkan port, proposes us this new musical journey that tries to reflect this controversial balkanic character. Among with Franco Molinari on dubblebass and Aniol López on the percussions, they present a concert of excellent musical quality through intensive team work.
