Minor Kingdom

MINOR KINGDOM (formally know as Ballast) is the moniker for 25 year old Kristian Marshall, a folk singer-songwriter and latest burgeon to be a part of Minneapolis's thriving new music scene. While playing shows around the Twin Cities, he assembled an all-star cast of friends to help him create his debut album My Back Will Bend. Other young Minnesota talents featured on the record include fellow folk-stress Haley Bonar, J.T. Bates (The Pines, Alpha Consumer, Fat Kid Wednesdays), James Buckley (Mystery Palace, James Buckley Trio, The Dolly's) and Chris Morrissey (Mason Jennings, Ben Kweller, Chris Morrisey Quartet). The album was recorded by Kristian in various nooks and cranny's over the past year and it retains a subtle but immediate intimacy that has been compared to Red House Painter's, Leonard Cohen and Grizzly Bear.
