"Quotes"

MI VOLKI is one of the best Quebec albums released in 2004.
Claude Rioux – A BABORD – Dec. 2004 / Jan. 2005

A groovy and ambitious album, a welcome change from Quebec’ prevailing saccharin, Pop-music scene.
Stéphane Martel – LONGUEUR D’ONDES – Winter 2004/2005

I like the laziness of this album. I like the « Rock’N’Roll » attitude, but what I love even more is the effort behind the « We don’t give a sh…t » exterior. To create the band’s distinct Rock sound, A LOT of work went into these fifteen songs : long trips, the mastering of foreign tongues and many different musical styles. But most off all, there is a certain BALTHAZAR who is finally ready to receive his well-deserved share of success.
Alain Brunet – La Presse – Saturday Oct. 2nd 2004

The BALTHAZARS (…) deliver a sophisticated, smart Rock of international appeal. Written in English, French and Russian, engaging us from beginning to end. A must-have, always close at hand.
The pick-of-the-week.
Jean Beauchesne – LE JOURNAL DE MONTRÉAL – Saturday Oct. 30th 2004

The daring, groovy and acid-pop sound of the BALTHAZARS derogates from the established, French-Canadian Pop-music scene.
Olivier Robillard-laveaux – VOIR – Oct. 7th 2004

MI VOLKI is without a doubt a generous album, as full and complex as the band’s personality.
Christian Coté – LA PRESSE - Saturday Oct. 2nd 2004

MI VOLKI: fifteen songs halfway between Heaven and Earth!
Kathleen Lavoie – LE SOLEIL – Oct. 8th 2004

Not only does MI VOLKI maintain its addictive Rock vibe, but it takes us an explosive cerebral journey, where accents of Reggae mingle with multiple, quasi-psychedelic sound effects.
VOIR – Sept. 23rd 2004

The best Indie-Rock band to hit Montreal will enflame its concerts with Punk, Ska, reggae, Garage, Pop and Funk, in the manner of the Sublime, Nick Cave, The Pogues and the Clash.

Bio

Since 1995, Balthazar has played in Quebec, Latin America and many European countries, from Brest to Zagreb, Rotterdam to Barcelona (1999-2000).

In 1997 they launch their first eponyme rock album. On september 28, 2004, a second CD "Mi Volki" sees light whit Daq records, La Tribu and Select.

Fruit of a fairly long common experience, performed whit character and originality, "Mi Volki" (We are Wolves) is the living image of a never ended journey.

Caucase, Texas, Balthazar's music errance leads us from war's caustic reality to the most enchanting encounters such as partners Hakim Hamadouche on mandoluth, Alexis Cochard on guitar, Charles Imbeau on trompet, Jean-François Lemieux and Cyril Leclerc on machines.

Ethereal and percussive, Balthazar is back with a pop rock bomb embracing folk and reggae accents.
