Baltic Avenue is a six piece band of that reinterprets the classics of our age; middle-age; with a repertoire that includes the Pretenders, Neil Young, the Beatles, Byrds, Cream, Dylan, Donovan, Lovin' Spoonful, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lucinda Williams, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello and Jimi Hendrix.

The band is composed of six musicians who have, to say the least, been around; from guitarist Peeter Kopvillem, a rock legend in Estonia, to Lithuanian Jenny Dean, who once placed second in the Toronto mayoralty race as one of the Hummer Sisters.

All have strange and interesting day jobs:

Jennifer Dean (lead vocals) works as an actor, and administrative assistant to movers and shakers in law, politics and showbiz.

Nigel Dean (drums) is a contractor who destroys and rebuilds houses.

Terry Flynn (rhythm guitar, electric sitar) manages blockbuster office buildings and recently won his industry's Oscar; the Office Building of the Year Award.

Joe Chidley (bass, vocals) is Editor in Chief of Canadian Business magazine.

Brian D. Johnson (percussion) is senior entertainment writer and film critic at Maclean's.

Peeter Kopvillem (lead guitar, vocals) is Deputy Editor of Maclean's.
