Biography

What's with the name "BambiRaptor"? Well, it sort of relates to their sound. With mesmerizing lyrics backed by catchy guitar hooks and bombastic bass and drums, BambiRaptor creates a sound that's constantly shifting, toying with all things light and dark, calm and violent...as the name BambiRaptor might suggest. Gentle and aggressive vocal melodies intertwine to compliment beautifully detailed, effects driven guitar riffs. The music is inspired by art, literature, pop culture, personal experiences, humor, obscure subcultures and kittens on the internet. The sound parallels Bloc Party, Modest Mouse, Arctic Monkeys, The Pixies...

Formed in Chicago in 2009, BambiRaptor is a group of five friends with contrary musical influences but a similar sense of humor and perspective on the ever evolving music scene. Lyrics

Greenology

Written By: Roger Remillard

I wish you were
There when we first met
With the times we put in
and the good times we’ve had

Because if we had known you
We’d have passed it around
And you would get baked
then we’d all fall down

And when we met
I knew fate was on our side
Because you came right to me
There was no use to hide

Friends keep safely missing faces gone aloft without police
We say we gonna be okayyyyyy

I’ll stop the world and front the way we speak bout everything
Next time we go we’re gonna stow away

You pass the can, You make the grade
Watch the sun, as it fades away
A freshly rolled one takes the edge off any day

Because we are a pride of lions
I know we’re really mellow to the outside world
Because we grow through each other wanna have some fun
We want to make the isht better, want to come undone

Be on your own, wasting away
Now I know, Now I go, Now I running away
Pass the joint now, spark the joint now
Crack the light I show you how you goin to want to make it all melt away

Pick it up now
Pick it up now
Pick it up now
Baby Pick it up now
Where the blunts at
Where the blunts at
Pick it up now baby pick it up now ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

And you don’t say, but you would say, fnananananananananana
And I won’t go, to the next show, fnananananananananana whoa!

I hope to see you when make your way back home again
We’ll have a party and invite our closest friends
And we’ll all get so lit, still I’ll take another hit
Staying up all night, Nintendo, Drinking Jolt or Mr. Pibb

Sit outside, drink some rum, build a fire, have more fun
And we’ll tell amazing stories but tomorrow they’ll seem dumb
We’ll all laugh, till we cry, Jeez I think I’m really high
We’ll hang out until the sun comes up and then we’ll say goodbye

Alaska

Written By: Roger Remillard and Kenneth Kruse

Under a dark sky
On a starry night
I hold your body close to mine

Above the tree line
Under Orions belt
The air is thick with Northwest Pine

And I was crying
I should have let you go
Let you go

And I was waiting
By your kitchen door
Your kitchen door

Pacific Oceans
Just a mile away
Might as well be outer space

It’s my intention
No use to make you stay
Take this coat with you just in case

And I was crying
I should have let you go
Let you go

And I was waiting
By your back door
I’m gonna ….

(Just drums and Vocals)
The end of summer
Another lover gone
We hold each other close till dawn

My car is silent
Because it’s understood
That you were leaving all along

And I was crying
I should have let you go
Let you go

And I was waiting
By your back door
I’m gonna ….
Breakdown
Every day … I’m sunk every day
Every night … I’m drunk in a fight

In the back of the circle K
In the front of the Bering Strait

Fall down deep under the covers
Come back we’re not like the others

Run your fingers down through my hair
If we move on we won’t really care

We’ll kiss each other
and then we’ll say Goodbye
For another….
