The best kept secret in music
Press
A lot of what defines the sound of Bamboo Forest is contained within frontman Jackson May’s voice. Cited influences run a gamut of classic rock, alternative and punk figureheads, and Bamboo Forest’s music follows fittingly. The Myrtle Beach foursome’s as eager with distorted power chords as it is with gentle twang and shuffling melody. May’s raw voice, though, will keep the band leaning nearer to its grunge inspirations. Marrying a Cobain roar to a Cuomo croon, he winds up somewhere in the vicinity of Titus Andronicus’ Patrick Stickles, minus the propensity for dense, prosaic lyrics. - Free Times
