SINOPSE
Música e surdez surgem em nosso pré-conceito como paralelas que jamais se encontram. Desde 1994, o Surdodum vem despertando de forma singular a arte musical em surdos. O antagonismo existente entre mundos distintos com culturas e identidades sociais próprias aproxima-se pelo poder de transformação da música. Agora não existem os que ouvem e os que não ouvem, há uma intersecção tão consolidada que ao invés de ouvir, sente-se a música.

SURDODUM BAND
The auditory deficiency in its diverse degree, affects 10% of the world-wide population, according to data of the OMS (World-wide Organization of Health). In the developed countries, 1 in each 1,000 inhabitants is deaf, in underdeveloped the o number grows for 4 in each 100. This increase is consequence of the lack of primary politics. While this prevention is not practised in its totality in our country, we have that to develop partner-pedagogical strategies that minimize the sequels of this deficiency. The Surdodum appeared as a project in 1994, our objective is to provide to the individuals with auditory deficiency of all the degrees and types, the participation in a percussion band, or either, to offer to the musical integration by means of a process pedagogical and cultural partner. The Surdodum band has today 13 participants, being 8 deaf musicians and 5 voluntary listeners. In the Surdodum she does not have reprovação cases, the positive collection of the academic study, as well as the rise of auto-they esteem, they stimulates the deaf people to each time more to conquer a better and more conscientious future. Some are attending a course the college and others are funcionérios public. The band ascended very since its foundation. By means of the developed work, the teacher-coordinator was one of the 15 finalistas of the Cláudia Prize Woman of Year 2002, as well as, received the Prize Woman from the Year in the area of Education for the Soropthimista Association, in the same year. By means of our humble contribution, we dream to become well-known the rupture of obstacles of the deaf people, many times, subestimados for its limitations and thus we try to mold the errônea position of the society, being stirred up the execution of other projects directed to the SPECIAL CARRIERS OF EDUCATIONAL NECESSITIES.
