Bio

The Bandawalla Moons are a new original independent reggae music act established in 2008. A result of colliding universal forces and music intelligence, served up on a tropical platter of island time goodness and shakin’ like an island queens grass skirt. Representing an international sound and music style, the six band members include artists from Australia, Singapore, Vanuatu, France and Chile.
The rapid success of the band in their regional area has been due largely to their ability to crank out their live shows with revolution jumping anthems, atmospheric jams, precise musical arrangements, energetic call & response moments, socially conscious lyrics, lingering melodic mystic, progressive rhythmic outbreak and an exceptional ability to harness and make original the best of what is familiar to reggae, ska, punk, roots and ragga musical genres.

Philosophy & Audience Development
This collaboration of diverse music artists are bounded by a common philosophy…. Music Rocks Your Soul!

The Bandawalla Moons are a fun loving, soul flying people, they have a unique respect for shared cultural values having to communicate in a range of ways across the common barriers of language, cultural perspective and interpretation of meaning to create and determine their music and future together as a band.
Local music lovers and audiences affectionately refer to the band as the “The Moons” or “Bandawalla’s” or abbreviated as “BMW” (as in the make of a ‘classy’ and ‘stylish’ car), which is testament to the growing audience knowledge and appreciation of the band in social circles.
The Bandawalla Moons have been successful in forming strategic alliances and supporting & collaborating with local and regional community groups and music collectives, not-for-profit organisations, James Cook University and local government initiatives that reflect the bands working concept, philosophy and basis for their written lyrical works. These alliances represent the environment, human rights, social justice, education, diverse multi-generational & cultural groups and are also the ‘makeup’ of The Bandawalla Moons supporting audiences....
