Bio

It’s hard these days to find something musically outstanding in the myriad of genres, bands, and performers that make up the euphonic landscape of today. It’s difficult to give your heart to one solid band that will nourish your soul and satisfy your cravings- until now.
Now there is “The Band Droidz.” You might be taken aback by their sound, a mélange of influent powerful notes like “The Clash” and
“Nirvana” with a hint of “REM” on a rock-hard New York city background. Monk’s voice has a delicate texture that balances out the
rough guitar and soulful lyrics, the melodic line induces a dream-like
state in which the rhythmic accuracy of Leon’s drums punctuates the flow of the music straight to the core of your being while the coarse
base lines played relentlessly by Q-Maxx bring you back to reality just in time for you to realize that you are addicted.

Qmaxx420 (bass) formally the front man of the Slackers a band he co founded in 1991 and the Band-Droidz in 1993. During his time in the
Slackers he would go on to record nine albums, seven of them being On Hell-Cat records founded by Tim Armstrong of Rancid fame. The Slackers got the reputation of being the hardest touring Band on the Hell-Cat label and as a result of there marathon touring the Slackers toured with the best such as Joe Strummer, Hepcat, and Rancid, and headlining tours with the likes of Flogging Molly, the skatalites, and the Specials. Currently Qmaxx has started a new indie label called
Libertine Record and is Playing bass for Band Droidz and side project Pollen.

Leon Lamont (drummer) is a New York based DJ, drummer and Producer in the realms of Electronic and Rock Music. Lamont is best known for his
work as a drummer and has played with various artists on the downtown NYC scene including Melvin Gibbs, Vernon Reid, Joshua Redman, DJ Logic, John Medeski, Chris Wood, Chocolate Genius, Biz Markie and Anti-Pop Consortium, and has played gigs at places like the Knitting
Factory, Tonic, Wetlands, and Irving Plaza. Lamont is also known internationally as a DJ and has performed in Europe appearing in such
places as Berlin, Paris, Switzerland, Austria and Poland.

Monk (guitarist/leading vox), is a native New Yorker, who is a prolific guitarist, singer songwriter, and now steps in to the spotlight as Band Droidz guitarist and front man. In the early 90s Monk started a band with bass player Qmaxx420, but received accolades
as guitarist with New York band, Apollo Heights and has shared the stage and opened for bands such as Oasis, The Pixies, The Cocteau Twins, The Manic Street Preachers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and TV on the Radio.
