"Mississippi Picnic in LA Review"

The Mississippi Picnic in Los Angeles was great fun. It could have been the welcoming spirit of founder Scott Rorie, Romie's BBQ trucked in from Tupelo, MS (Elvis' hometown), the ruthless red lipstick of Lucky Rivers (the lead of Bandito Royale), the ethereal designs of Molly Gee, or the made-from-pecans Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Ale, but whatever it was, it was a lovely 76ยบ Saturday. Look out for the 34th picnic next year.

Bandito Royale: 3 song EP, 2010

Lucky Rivers has never lost a card game. She enjoys bittersweet melodies and has spent much of her life pretending to be someone else. At night she dreams of becoming a trapeze-flying spy...but for now, she'll keep on singing those sad, sad songs. Crockett Fontaine is the son of an American welterweight wrestling champ and a French chanteuse named Koukla. He enjoys rare steaks and late night games of strip poker with Lucky. Rusty de la Croix was born to two short order cooks at the world famous Keyhole Creole in Shreveport. Their specialty was Rusty's Busty Crawfish Bisque. Rusty knows his way around the beaches of Mexico. Bernard St. James Lafayette was fully formed on the bayous of Mississippi and Louisiana. Says he once threw dice with Skip James.
