"Bangaseed LIVE!!"

Much like any other Rock Band out there, Bangaseed’s journey to the now has been more than tumultuous and riddled with obstacles; from botched attempts at forming other bands, deciding which instrument doubled as a chick magnet, quibbles between band members, tiffs with management or (/AND) girlfriend (winky wink), the list goes on.
The jaunt to today’s re-emergence of the new - and hopefully improved and improving- Bangaseed- brings with it a medley of fresh faces, backed with new talent and a mélange of experience. The original Bangaseed is better known for their 80’s style influenced by bands such as Megadeth, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Alice in Chains and the like, played all over Trinidad: from Darin’s and Sparky’s to Samaan Tree and more, alongside varying bands with different styles: Dirge of Brutality to Krash to the likes of Orange Sky (local idols of the band).
Since their inception they’ve built a good rapport within the Local Rock Community paying special homage to promoter’s such as PsychoRish (Samaan Tree/ Samaan Rock Festival) and Sean Annandsingh (GoLocal @ Bobby’s) whose support for local talent acts like a beacon for up and coming bands, as vouched for by Bangaseed.
Late last year after a disbanding and hiatus from the performance arena by original founding members Johnathon Agostini and John Emmanuel, the boys decided it was time to dismiss differences and get back to the music that mattered most. Friend of John and avid supporter of local rock, Kimberly Ramcharan (better known as Kimmi Ko) was approached to Manage the band and help with the recruitment process. After some mixing and matching, loss of hair and addition of worry lines by these three and Kelan Grahan (drummer- formerly Requiem) the Soca-boy and big brother of the band, a brilliant aggregate now once again known as BANGASEED was re-emerged.
The Fatima Boys, Gregory Pantin (rhythm guitar) and Rhys Libert (bassist- currently Krash) did in fact “answer to the call”, when approached by their fellow alumni John and Jono. Finally, to add a distinct flavour and compliment to the group, Sean “Sesalito” McCoon (keyboardist- currently Cabazon) entered this new, unfamiliar arena.
Complete and ready to develop as a cohesive unit, share experiences and give the best they can to their band, the Banga Boys gave their first all at Samaan Tree’s “Live in Yuh Face” on Saturday 18th June, their second show after their Friday 13th, May show at Darin’s two members short.

BANGASEED will be competing at the Anchorage Pop Music Awards 2011...so until then look out for them on a stage near you!! - Bangaseed

Bio

Bangaseed doesn't stick to one (1) genre of music. to the guys they all agree that the show's setlist will be formulated to suit the venue of choice. In the island of Trinidad, there are many varieties of music and different cultures and even though they are a Rock band at heart, the band is always open to playing the native music of the land which is Soca. They are influenced by bands such as: Pantera, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and local musicians such as Krash, Kes The Band, The Orange Sky etc.
