Bio
Bangtail Cats came to be in November 2008. The band is made up of 3 young musicians with over 30 years of combined experience recording and playing live music. The band's sound is best described as plain and simple Rock-n-Roll. The band is influenced by everything from the Kinks to Wilco, or the Beatles to Dinosaur Jr.
The 3 permanent members all contribute to all aspects of the music--writing, producing, business, etc. Bangtail Cats cut their teeth in Tuscaloosa in 2008 and early 2009, writing and playing the music that Caleb Christopher had written over the past 5 years.
After only a short time (under 6 months) the band decided to produce a full-length album, recording with Shane Lawler (The Dexateens, Dan Sartaine, Arkadelphia, etc.) The album will be entitled "The Get Down" and will be released on June 12, 2009.
The band will spend 6 weeks in the summer touring around the southeast to support it, and will then begin work on their second album (not yet titled).
