"Banig wows San Diego fans!"

Banig has once again proven herself to be one of the best performers in the business. We have seen her grow up on stage and this time, Banig came back better and stronger. Her pipes, her moves, her stage presence, her production numbers, it was a real treat for Filipino concert goers. Those who watched the show all had the same feedback, "I've never seen a Filipino concert artist like Banig. It's definitely not the typical show we Filipinos are used to".

We've always known Banig as the little singing wonder who won the International Star Search competition and who guested on The Arsenio Hall Show and several other American TV shows. But who would have thought Banig would grow up to be such a powerful concert performer! Her dance numbers, composed of 7 very energetic dancers, will leave you breathless. The dance numbers were choreographed by her younger sister Jhoanna, who's also a songwriter/producer. Banig's rendition of cover slow tunes will leave you teary-eyed, especially her rendition of "Bayan Ko". The production included a 6 piece band, 3 back up singers, 7 dancers, a children's choir, and a big screen monitor. Her vocals were great, her production numbers were unbelievable, her outfits were fierce, this show was no joke!!!

Banig definitely has a great future ahead of her. People left the venue impressed and satisfied. Even Mr. Joe Jackson who came all the way from Las Vegas, was amazed by Banig's performance. Mr. Jackson, father of Michael Jackson, also attended Banig's show at the Alex Theater in Los Angeles. He brought with him a government official from Mexico and a few other friends from Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

To all those people who missed Banig's show, you all missed out on a great show! It's definitely a concert you can't miss. Just ask those who saw it! Hats off to Banig and the organizers of the show!

We already know that she's a talented artist, but I don't think everyone has seen her full capabilities until they see a live Banig Concert!!! More power to you Banig! Keep doing what you do best. You are a true pride of our country!

"BANIG’s First Single Charts"

Our very own BANIG, the International Star Search Champion, has a new single hitting the airwaves on over 80 stations all over the US. BANIG’s “Boogie On the Dance Floor” recently stole the #3 spot on the urban chart on CMJ Magazine, one of the music industry’s top leading radio trade magazines. Stations such as KCSS (#5), KGFN (#5), KMUD (#7), WDCE (#7), WRFT (#5), WRST (#6), and WSHC (#4), have placed her in their top ten urban and dance playlists, dubbing the song as a “great club banger hit for the coming summer!”.

"I love it!!..it's my new perculator!", quotes Brad Corbitt, MD of WRFT. Another DJ said, "I've listened to two of the cuts so far (the radio edit and the RUFF PARTY remix on the single). I love them both. They straddle the line between R&B and house nicely, and I love her voice!" --DJ Muse, WCUW. "I feel that she has real talent! " –Scott Kerner, MD of WGDR. It’s also spinning on KTUH (Honolulu), KECG (San Francisco), KLC (Portland), WAHS (Detroit), WIIT (Chicago), WPPJ (Pittsburgh), WKDU (Philadelphia), WRGP (Miami), WRUW (Cleveland) and WSHL (Boston).

BANIG's first single, "Boogie On The Dance Floor", from her sophomore release entitled "Silent Whispers", is a crossover pop/R&B dance anthem. The single has different remixes including an urban Atlanta flavor mix (Ruff Party Remix) with a tongue twisting rap sequence by up and coming female rapper/producer Jojo. It also includes the Red Velvet mix, a strictly bass driven track with overlapping dubs and intense breaks and the progressive house/trance twist of DJ Astro's Floor x 4 mix. The thick harmonies and soulful adlibs on the raw acapella version surely showcases BANIG's vocal range. "Boogie On The Dance Floor" certainly possesses the potential of a club hit and a party favorite. It is also starting to hit the club scene in Miami, the US Dance Capital.

Singer/songwriter/producer Banig has also landed her very first Hollywood movie soundtrack project which will include 3 songs she wrote and produced with Jhoanna Roberto, an up and coming songwriter/producer/rapper. The movie will be released late summer of 2005. As a Filipino songwriter/producer, having songs included in a movie soundtrack is a great accomplishment. The music artists in the movie include former New Kids On The Blocks Jordan Knight, J Records recording artist MARIO (with the hit song “Let Me Love You “), and a few other named artists who will also be on the soundtrack.

Bio

As many watched her blossom from a little kid wonder to a woman of a total performer caliber, it is certain that Banig has what it takes to succeed in the very competitive world of the music business. Many performers have tried, but most failed. Though it ain't easy, Banig has certainly gone a long way. Filipinos take pride. They rejoice that someone with such talent could represent their country with honor and respect. But Banig, a true performer belongs to everyone for she is a world class entertainer!

Her first television appearance was at age 7 when she joined a singing competition where she became the champion for 7 consecutive weeks. By the age of nine, she was already a dominant presence n the Philippine concert scene. She then reached a bigger acclaim when she joined the International Star Search competition at the age of 10. Banig, representing the Philippines became the first and only Filipino champion and with that, the young performer who strutted her world class talent on stage back home had now caught the attention of the U.S. scene.

Since then, Banig has appeared in numerous television shows such as the Arsenio Hall Show, Into The Night With Rick Dees, Maury Povich Show, Super Dave Osborne Show, Good Day LA, AM Los Angeles, and more. She even sang the Star Spangled Banner for the Clippers vs the Kings. Banig also released her first U.S. CD entitled "Can You Feel My Heart?" under Del-fi Records. She received an overwhelming response from students of different races when she was offered to headline a school tour to promote her CD.

Banig has been headlining her own solo concerts since she was 10 years old, including a concert in Manila which was attended by half a million people, and sold out shows in Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal. She has also staged solo concerts in prestigious venues such as the Wiltern Theater in L.A., Cow Palace in SF, City Center in NY, The Roxy and Hollywood Palladium in LA, San Diego Convention Center and Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego, and many more.

Her latest CD release "Silent Whispers", under her own label, Double Play Entertainment, is a 14 track compilation of strictly soulful pop love songs with a mix of club-hitting upbeat anthems that not only showcases Banig's vocal range, but also her ability to write and produce. “Silent Whispers” is composed of original songs, written and produced in collaboration with rising songwriter/producer/rapper and choreographer, younger sis, Jhoanna, “JoJo” Roberto. With their collaboration, dance anthems, “Boogie on the Dancefloor” and “Walk” were played on several radio stations and dance clubs all over the U.S. Both singles also received chart ranking in various radio stations, record pools and dance club charts and Music Industry trade publications CMJ & DJ Times.

Through the years, Banig became a phenomenal talent and a true artist of the first caliber. You can hear it in her music and see it in her concerts. What makes her different from many other artists out there is her universal appeal. She has the making of a true international superstar, for she has the ability to capture audiences of all ages and all races. She has followers who have supported her career since she was a little girl. And those who see her perform are automatically captivated by her powerful voice and energetic dance moves. Banig has all the makings of a true artist who can be in the big league. Her fans await… but for the rest of the world who still don't know her, hopefully, will soon find out what they are missing out on!
