"BDMP bring the fire from the sugarhouse to the Latchis"

What makes Banjo Dan and hte Mid-nite Plowboys different is the Vermont spin they give to their songs. Their music is the real deal, not some sort of bluegrass hybrid, but many of their songs are originals, and the subjects they deal with are Vermont ones. The driving, acoustic-driven pulses, lively rhythms and catchy tunes are still there. - Brattleboro Reformer

"Concert revew"

This articulate and tight-knit group play with the assurance of professionals who know what they want to do and can do it.... edgy and energetic... (the) songs flow like mini-sermons from a fine bully pulpit. - Rutland Herald

"Banjo Dan and the Midnite plowboys get better with time"

Some things get better with time, and this group is a perfect example... The show at the opera house sounded fantastic, but it was also something great to see... Each individual Plowboy is a hugely talented musician on his own, and when he plays, the instrument becomes an extension of the man... - The Chronicle

"Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys"

Two marks of great musicianship are how easy they make it look and how much fun they share with the audience. - Significato

Bio

The Soul of Bluegrass … From the Heart of Vermont.
Founded in 1972, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys have been playing bluegrass in the New England area longer than anyone else on the planet.
Never imitative, and never complacent, the Plowboys have consistently followed their own muse, filling their richly varied repertoire with compelling originals – often reflecting life in the North Country -- along with imaginative arrangements of great songs from all over the musical map. But never doubt it: This is true bluegrass, dynamic and exciting, delivered with drive and passion.
Mainstays on the New England/ New York scene for decades, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys have also performed overseas on several occasions, in 1988 becoming the first American bluegrass band to tour the Soviet Union. They have recorded extensively, their albums garnering high praise for creativity and musical prowess. A hit for years at festivals and outdoor pavilions, the Plowboys also perform regularly in concert halls, opera houses and theatres, thrilling music lovers of all backgrounds and tastes with their unique approach to the lively American roots music known as Bluegrass.
A Banjo Dan show is full of energy, variety, excellent music and spontaneous humor – just the ticket for a great afternoon or evening of top-notch entertainment.
