2007 saw the group off to The North Pole...yes that is right. Travelling with The Canadian Armed Forces they performed for soldiers stationed in isolation in the most northerly inhabited place in the world. The coldest St. Patrick's Day party ever!

They also released music on The Outdoor Life's Network show "Ed's UP" with Barenaked Ladies star Ed Robertson and are featured on Warner Record's May 2007 release "Atlantic Standards II" featuring the best in East Coast Celtic.

2004 and 2005 East Coast Music Award Nominees for Roots Traditional Group of the Year, the band released their newest project “A Clearer Path” in the Fall of 2004. Recorded in St. John’s Newfoundland with producer Bob Hallett of the group Great Big Sea, the CD has traditional memories with new arrangements and seven songs hatched by the three founding members of Banshee.

The group is fronted by siblings Bryon and Shelley Chase and fiddler Stacey Lynn Read. A spit-fire lot, brimming with energy and high jinks, they say “With siblings and two lasses in the band you never know what mischief may end up on stage whilst holding an instrument”

Like the legend they are named for, Banshee is determined to haunt their audiences with an appreciation for the identity a region, the culture of the old world and the soaring harmonies of a new kind of Celtic.
