Bio
Barak Yalad has been in the hip-hop game for 18 years. He grew up in the rough Boston neighborhood of Roxbury, and later in Springfield, MA, where he met the hip-hop producers of Kemistry, who are themselves affiliated with the Justice League producers.
Barak honed his hip-hop style under the influence of great 80s and 90s hip-hop acts such as Brand Nubian, Grand Puba, Public Enemy, and Black Star. After gaining a wide following in western Massachusetts, Barak moved to Brooklyn, NYC in order to bring his music to wider audience and get even closer to the roots of the hip-hop scene. After opening for KRS-One during the 2007 CMJ Music Festival, Barak has already started gain a strong following in New York. And with the release of his first full-length album, A Loss For Words (Rawkus Records), that following will only get bigger.
