If you answered yes to any of these questions, Baratunde Thurston is the speaker for you! Baratundes a technology-loving comedian whose book How to Be Black is a narrative on identity and the Black experience in the 21st century. With an ancestry that includes a great-grandfather who taught himself to read, a grandmother who was the first black employee at the U.S. Supreme Court building, and a mother who took over radio stations in the name of the black liberation struggle, Baratunde has long been taught to question authority. Baratundes talk is a topical and witty look at race and identity in America. Baratunde served as Director of Digital for The Onion (2007 2012) and has been featured in the NY York Times, Vanity Fair, CNN, MSNBC, and NPR
