Formally known to their fans as Barbie's Gun until a run-in with Mattel Inc., Bar Code Born a.k.a. BCB hit the Rochester original alternative rock scene in October of 2001.

In 2002 BCB got a grant from the Arts & Cultural Council of Greater Rochester and Mark Brown, BCBs Music Attorney from HSBC plaza joined whom has helped with indie label offers. One offer was from Jet Speed Records in Hollywood California.

BCB has Rocked out well known places such as Penny Arcade in Rochester NY where they have competed with Anthrax in attendance of fans, The Show Place Theater in Buffalo, NY, Pleasure Dome II in Niagara NY, and Steel Music Hall where they opened up for Lava/Atlantic records band Grade 8.

BCB has been featured on major news station WROC channel 8 and has won Songwriting awards such as the Unisong International Songwriting Competition. In 2003 BCB was helped with a merchandise deal from Jarrod Montaque, drummer of Taproot on Atlantic records. Jarrod stated to BCB: "We'll do everything we can to help you guys out, you have a cool band with tons of potential"

In 2005 BCB has gotten played on college radio stations and in 2006 are getting played on Syracuse and Ithacas Major Radio station K-Rock and Rochester NY's WBER and Brockport’s WBSU without being signed is a feat in and of itself. This is apparent to many including Hooman Karamian, best known to most for his work with Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band and Megadeth. He has been quoted as saying about BCB: "Upon my personal review, I feel your music has huge potential. I believe your material is label ready, and I am positive record companies will be very receptive.”

Later in 2006 Dave Fortuna’s song “One Man Army” won a spot on a compilation cd for RGA records, a well know record label in Florida.

BCB is dedicated to a mission of reaching and helping others through music and hopes to return the favor of how music has been a savior to him.
