Bio
Barefoot & The Shoes bring living blues-rock, as if it comes straight from the cotton fields near the Mississippi River.
The brothers Brent and Sander Cliquet started their musical adventure as buskers in Leuven. Brent, a 15 years old guy, is inspiredby Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Buckley and The Doors.
Brents original voice – he really sounds like someone who saw it all already –and the wonderful sounds of Sander’s guitar
result in a unique repertoire that is without any competition in the Belgian scene. Barefoot & the Shoes is emotion, virtuosity and originality in the broadest sense.
Last summer they were the much-appreciated guests at several festivals. On stage they are accompanied by Cyrille Obermüller
on contrabas and Dirk Vandenbulcke on drums.
Brent and Sanders main goals is this, making music and inspiring others by doing so, just like other artists inspired them.
One of the Belgian leading radio’s summarized it like this ‘Guys from 15 and 19 years old, who get their inspiration from
Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Buckley and The Doors, surely trigger our attention. When they sound like a young Keziah Jones and
sing like a thirty year old, we are definitely impressed.
We can’t hardly wait until their first album “Exit out of Dreamland” hits the markets and kicks off a great series of live gigs.
