"Barefoot for Native, Barefoot for Native EP"

I first saw Yvette Barwood and Devora F, the two ladies of Barefoot for Native, at SXSW, and then was fortunate to see them again as they came through Houston and did a show at Dean’s. These two women play their guitars with such beauty and intensity while being completely in synchronicity and harmony with each other. It’s a performance that caused people to line up and express their gratitude after they finished their two-set gig at Dean’s. From the UK, the pair have been touring the country performing what I’d describe as singer-songwriter folk soul, with bandmates John Sandall on fiddle and James Russell on drums.
Their self-titled EP, Barefoot for Native, captures the essence of what they are about: beautifully-written and -crafted songs sung with passion and a heartfelt connection. My favorite song by far is “August,” a stinging melody about unrequited love, or about being in love with someone who is not quite capable yet of not breaking your heart. Been there, done that, I can completely relate. All of their songs are poignant. If you’re a fan of Jessica Lee Mayfield, Tori Amos, and Joni Mitchell, keep Barefoot for Native on your radar. - Space City Rock website

"Stripped Bare Acoustic Night Review"

Hello Music Adoring People....
For those of you new to the mailing list, we host acoustic showcase nights across london and promote these nights and the artists that perform so if you are a music lover then you can see whats going on and if you are a musician then get in contact!

We had another great week of performances and showcases at the stripped bare acoustic nights, a few memorable performances stood out this week from Tereza a young singer songwriter with a fabulous voice you can check her out at www.tereza.co.uk she gave 2 really fantastic enjoyable performances this week. We also had an amazing night at the Phoenix on Sunday 1st. Seeing some fantastic performances but one in particular saw YVEDEVORA give a spell binding performance and had a packed crowd literally in the palm of they're hands, and thats not an easy thing to do at the phoenix ,as they can sometimes be a tough crowd to please but these guys pulled it off. You can check out they're page at www.myspace.com/yvedevora.

The newest venue the Edingburgh Cellars is still continuing to grow and saw a decent turn out this week so big thanks to all those that came down and supported... would be nice to see a lot more of you this week...
Anybody still interested in playing at any of the nights there are still some slots available in april, you can find more details at www.myspace.com/powersopenmic and the website hopefully will be up and running by the end of this week.

Peace, All the Best

Bio

Barefoot For Native's lead vocalists Yve and Devora met in East London and quickly began playing pubs, showcases, and festivals along the South East of England. Cambridge became their second home and after touring with the successful odd pop band, THE HOOSIERS, they've progressed their sound to a full four piece with a set of songs to hook you in and move you. As of recently, Barefoot For Native has taken their music on the road in the US, and begun their journey in Austin, TX last year playing at venues like Hole in the Wall and Elysium with local band The Seas. After leaving Austin they embarked on a four month tour crossing over the South East US to states like Alabama, finding a hub of fans and folk lovers, Georgia, Tennessee, showcasing at the famous BLUEBIRD cafe, and Mississippi and Louisiana. Their second leg of the tour, the band reached the North East playing at the Elbow Room in New Yorks famous Bowery St and at Crabs Fiddle in Philadelphia! Now the band is home, back in England, writing and hoping to release a new EP before they embark on another successful US tour starting March 2011.
