Biography

Influences:Buddy Holly, Peter Framption, Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Woody and Arlo Guthrie, George Harrison, Big & Rich, Blues Brothers, Keith Richards, most of today's country artists, of course The Beatles, Beach Boys, and several R & B and Soul artists of the past....given the opportunity in the studio, lots of other things can come out.
We write songs as we go along, sometimes it just all spills out, like Leap of Faith....all at once, soup to nuts the song was just there. Thank the Maker we had a tape recorder going!

Lyrics

When There's No Light

Written By: Randi Webster Jack Flinn

Sometimes in life you just gotta stand up
‘cos standing’s all that you can do,
These days are hard but there’s a lesson
And there’s a way to see things through

CHO:
When there’s no light believe in breathing
And when there’s no sound, believe in the wind
And when the end seems ever nearer
Believe in beginning again.

Not every journey ends in sunshine
Not every dream’s gonna be fulfilled
And unlike most Hollywood movies
Sometimes that hero’s gonna get killed.

CHO:
When there’s no light believe in breathing
And when there’s no sound, believe in the wind
And when the end seems ever nearer
Believe in beginning again.

REFRAIN: Energy changes when you apply this
Simple attitudinal shift
It helps to turn a sour spin of karma
Into a brand new gift.

CHO:
When there’s no light believe in breathing
And when there’s no sound, believe in the wind
And when the end seems ever nearer
Believe in beginning again.

The Pendulum

Written By: Randi Webster

The pendulum swings both ways
Sometimes you see clear,
Sometimes there’s a haze
One thing’s for sure change gonna come
One of these days, yes one of these days.

Life can’t be all bad and no good
See there’s a balance
Here in our neighborhood.
One thing’s for sure, change gonna come
Just like it should, yes just like it should.

CHO
Sometimes life deals you some really bad blows,
It breaks your heart and bloodies your nose.
But if you stay long enough fighting
In that ring,
You can make it through most anything.

So take those hard times
For what they are,
You’re just in training to be a superstar.
One thing’s for sure change gonna come
And you’ll go far, yes you’ll go far.

CHO
Sometimes life deals you some really bad blows,
It breaks your heart and bloodies your nose.
But if you stay long enough fighting
In that ring,
You can make it through most anything.

So take those hard times
For what they are,

If The People Lead

Written By: Randi Webster Jack Flinn

If the people lead…the leaders will follow.

We are born all colors and creeds
On different paths but still the same needs
This world is ours to have and to hold
Time to take it back into the fold.

CHO:
If the people lead, the leaders will follow
It’s time to show some strength
Don’t let our prayers ring hollow
It’s time to rise up strong
From the muddy wallow
f the people lead, the leaders will follow.

No one will say, but everyone knows
Love is a power that grows and grows
It’s time to face facts, arise and be strong
Smoke to the truth, and let it live long.

CHO:
If the people lead, the leaders will follow
It’s time to show some strength
Don’t let our prayers ring hollow
It’s time to rise up strong
From the muddy wallow
f the people lead, the leaders will follow.

The judge and jury have all been dismissed
Political babies have all been kissed
It’s time to do better, better for sure
Hand in hand like never before.

CHO:
If the people lead, the leaders will follow
It’s time to show some strength
Don’t let our prayers ring hollow
It’s time to rise up strong
From the muddy wallow
f the people lead, the leaders will follow.

Smoke A Joint Right Now and Change The World

Written By: Bargain Basement Band

There is an herb
that’s medicine
Been here for centuries
Since God knows when.
“Give us our garden!”
Cries nature’s herald
Let’s all go smoke a joint right now
And change the world.

Now is the time
Take future’s hand,
We’ve got to set aside our fears
And take command.
Raise up the banner
Of liberty unfurled,
Let’s all go smoke a joint right now
And change the world.

Plant seeds for hemp
Plant seeds for smoke
Help the environment
And take a toke
Roll up a fattie
And keep the lip end curled
Let’s all go smoke a joint right now
And change the world

Higher Ground

Written By: Bargain Basement Band

I hear the news, the river’s rising
All of our truths are pouring down,
It’s too, too late-there’s no disguising
We’ve got to move to higher ground

‘Cos Cannabis was meant to grow in forests
Not hidden in the basement factories.
This five and seven star-leaf cluster
Are just yearning and burning to be free.

CHO: And you might say that we’re all dreamers
But we’re not the only ones
We hope some day you join us
And the world can live as one.

‘Cos Marijuana is a gift of nature,
Created by our Maker for our needs.
From flowers, to medicine and paper
She has given of herself down to the seeds.

CHO

Ending: one voice sings “live as one” while the other repeats the first verse

When Elvis Drove His Cadillac

Written By: Randi Bargain Basement Band

Used to be the worst that we did
leastways back when I was a kid
was cherry bombing toilets at our school...
maybe light a paper bag on fire
ring the bell and hide behind a tire,
sure it was mischief but it was cool.

These days there's more of blood than fun
and everybody has a gun
I sure wish sometimes we
could just go back
to when Elvis drove his Cadillac...
drove his Cadillac.

These days folks don't seem to know
that what you reap is what you sew,
turf war or terrorism, its all the same.
Call it mayhem, call it what you will,
sure wish we could just sit back and chill
on the front porch shouting out the neighbors' names.

These days lemonades' been banned
the kids can't open up a stand,
I sure wish sometimes we could
just go back
to when Elvis drove his Cadillac,
drove his Cadillac.

No more drive-in movie,
no more feelin' groovy,
I say no more no more
anymore!

These days we still have a chance,
time for us to get up and dance!
Who says we can't bring that feeling back -
like when Elvis drove his Cadillac,
drove his Cadillac.

You Drive

Written By: Randelyn Webster Boo Boo's Bargain Basement Band

I'm not sure what's going on
Usually like to do things alone,
But this one really has me seeing red
And the sign says "Rough Road Ahead."

CHO: So You drive this thing
Up over the ridge
Bring us safe down the other side.
Yeah, You drive
Get us back on track
And I'll stay right here and enjoy the ride.
Yeah, You drive.

A storm is raging down the road.
Unsafe conditions for this load.
I may not be very bright
But I know I need more than just me tonight.

CHO: So You drive this thing
Up over the ridge
Bring us safe down the other side.
Yeah, You drive
Get us back on track
And I'll stay right here and enjoy the ride.
Yeah, You drive.

Faith can move mountains so they say...
I believe in believing, so unto Thee I pray.

CHO: So You drive this thing
Up over the ridge
Bring us safe down the other side.
Yeah, You drive
Get us back on track
And I'll stay right here and enjoy the ride.
Yeah, You drive.
Yeah, You drive.
Yeah, You drive.
Yeah, You drive.

Country In The City By The Bay

Written By: Randi and Jack

Just the other night down by
The San Francisco Bay,
A Band was playin' hot stuff,
They were burnin' up the hay!
It wasn't City, Hip Hop
Or a Psychedelic rag,
It didn't pump the Oldies
On a sweaty Relic's jag.
It got my feet to movin'
With everything I got-
The music made me feel good
And the rythem made me hot.

CHO: It was Country
Plain as it can be-
It was Country,
Just like you and me
It was Country
From the City by the Bay.
What can I say?
It was Country,
Country by the Dock of the Bay.

There was no mistakin' it,
The music that I heard-
The band was riffin' hot licks,
I was hearin' every word.
It wasn't dirty language
Or a space-aged sounding tune.
It didn't split my eardrums
As it chased me from the room.
It got my mind to groovin'
So I danced with all I had,
The rythem made me rock out
And the lyrics made me glad.

CHO: It was Country
Playin' in the Park
It was Country
Lighting up the dark,
It was Country
In the City by the Bay.
What can I say?
It was Country,
Country by the Dock of the Bay.

REFRAIN: We got Joplin, we got Airplane
And the Grateful Dead,
But sometimes I just wanna hear
Some Wayland instead.
We've been rockin' music longer
Than a country mile.
We know how to hoe-down
We just do it Frisco style.

CHO: We got Country
In our cable cars,
We got Country
In our local bars,
We got Country
In the City by the Bay.
What can I say?
We got Country,
Country by the Dock of the Bay.
We got Country
By the Dock of the Bay.

There You Were

Written By: Randelyn Webster/ PJ Townsend

Once I was so downhearted,
Felt very insecure.
Then you came, my blues departed
I found love now I want more and more

CHO:
'Cause there you were
Right outside my window,
There you were
Standing cross from my backyard,
There you were
Making my life wonderful,
Here I am now
I'm holding every card.

No longer do I have fears
Of doubt and pain,
No longer am I in dispare,
With you around I've nothing but
Love to gain,
All because you were there.

CHO:
'Cause there you were
Right outside my window,
There you were
Standing cross from my backyard,
There you were
Making my life wonderful,
Here I am now
I'm holding every card.
