"A video to tribute a tribute 70’s porn star"

This is one of the best videos we EWWA posted on APC, a tribute to 70’s porn star legend Brigitte Lahaie and to her classic film Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School. Bark Bark Disco’ epic bedroom pop song is a free download as well. - attuworld

"Bark Bark Disco: “Song For The Lovers”"

The island of Malta sits about 60 miles off the southern coast of Sicily in the Mediterranean, and despite its small size, it’s one of the most densely populated countries in Europe. Apparently, they get pretty cool shows there and are exporting some good music, too.

Last summer, on the eve of a Bonnie “Prince” Billy show in the capital Valletta, a few kids threw a thew a band together, called it Bark Bark Disco, and played their debut show in a masonic cemetery in support of Mr. Oldham. They’ve since recorded a full length and are giving it away on their site. The album pulls influence from stuff like Modern Lovers and Herman Dune, and recorded entirely at home.

The video for the lead single is called “Song for the Lovers” and is a tribute to 70s porn star Brigitte Lahaie. And even though this clip is comprised of scenes from the classic, “‘Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School,” it’s probably still more or less SFW. - allournoise.com

"Bark Bark Disco: kostenloses Debütalbum"

i'd never heard of black bark disco before today, but i'm a fan of the tone of the nekkid boobies bouncin' video i just saw. they have their entire album available for free download too, which is always a good thing.

this is how being in a band works these days, right? make an interesting video, get it noticed, give some of your music away on your site in middling quality downloads, and tour like a mother fucker... - picklesdickles.com

"Song for the Lovers"

Bark Bark Disco‘s twee pop gets even sweeter when the video backdrop is the classic “Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School“. But I shall add that it’s not all glory for the Malta & Berlin trio, their free download debut “Your Mum says Hello” has a lot of run-of-the-mill electropop fillers that I’d have cut if I were their producer. Well, enjoy the song for the lovers, it’s valentine’s! - undomondo

"Unschuldige Retropornos im Video der Woche"

Unschuldige Retropornos im Video der Woche

Text: maria-freilich

- www.nicorola.de

Bio

Bark Bark Disco is a band from the island of Malta and Berlin that formed in August 2009. Their debut concert was with Bonnie Prince Billy in a masonic cemetery in Valletta.

Their debut video for their single "Song for the Lovers" was a tribute to 1970s porn star Brigitte Lahaie, and was taken from Erwin Dietrich's classic film Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School. It received a quarter of a million views on YouTube in under two weeks.

Bark Bark Disco are part of the So Lo-Fi music movement. The band has often defined their sound as "bedroom pop", mainly because of the fact that their debut album, Your Mum Says Hello!, was recorded entirely in their bedroom.
