Barricades led by designer and musician Mario Ayala Jr. is a combination of pop and experimental sounds that has made their first album, “The Destination”, an earful of sounds.

Barricades is the kind of band you've always known existed, but didn't have a clue where to begin looking for them. Their music is colorful and encompasses a gamut of styles while embracing the pop sensibilities of various eras. They are best known for their unpredictable yet familiar delivery, their memorable melody lines, and their sincere and sometimes playful lyrics.
It all began in the summer of 2007 when singer/songwriter Mario Ayala joined forces with lead guitarist Brandon Der. Together they enjoyed performing at coffee houses, street corners and private events in the lower mainland of Vancouver BC. The equation was finally completed when drummer Steven Finnegan and bassist Ryan Larocque joined the duo in 2010. Since then, Barricades has become a hard working, goal-oriented and overall professional band. They currently perform at prestigious local venues, radio shows and festivals, and plan to tour across Canada in the near future.
