Bio

Barrockofilo began his work in 1998 integrating in its repertoire various musical expressions including jazz, rock, traditional music from Colombia and Latin America and “erudite” music, altogether with pieces wrote for the duo by Carlos Augusto Guzmán Torres. Has played in the most important auditoriums of the country, including the Luis Ángel Arango Library concert hall; has played two concerts for the television program of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, and for programs of City TV and Cable Centro. The duo played a concert series in the halls of the Banco de la República in the cities of Armenia, Pereira, Manizales, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Girardot, Leticia, Santa Marta and Valledupar. In July of 2006 played in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Brasil, and in December of the same year was invited by the Colombian embassy in Nicaragua to play a concert series. Working for the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and the Culture and Tourism Institute, Barrockófilo played more than two hundred didactical concerts for kids in public schools.

Barrockofilo has been winner and nominated in the most prestigious music festivals en Colombia.

Nadia Carolina Paredes García studied with maestro Kyril Grosdanov in the National University, where she graduated in 2004; she also studied music pedagogy in the National Pedagogic University and has taken master classes with Gabriel Ahumada and Luís Julio Toro. Since 2006 she is professor at the Yamaha band workshops, and she’s been given the Latino America Yamaha Artist distinction.

Carlos Augusto Guzmán Torres studied in the National University and the National Pedagogic University, as well as particular studies. As player of the bandola, a Colombian stringed instrument was part of various prestigious groups and winner of awards. His compositions have been nominated in the Ministry of Culture of Colombia (1997), and the Michelle Pittaluga in Alessandria, Italy, (2006) composition competitions. Nowadays he teaches in the Superior Arts Academy, of the District University.

Barrockofilo has published two CDs: “Uno” (“one”) in 2003 and “”El viaje” (“the journey”) in 2007.
