Bio
Barry got his first guitar as a gift - in a trapezoidal-shaped cardboard box. Rocked out, fingerpicked, dipped his toes in the classical world, took a wrong turn when he learned to play the banjo, forgave himself long enough to become a songwriter along the way.
Beyond his newfound presence as a solo performer, he's just as likely to be performing as an integral part of the duo, Heart and Hammer. His wife, Julianna Waters, is a prolific and adept songwriter in her own right.
Barry was a winner at the Kerrville Songwriting contest in 1997, a finalist at the Napa and Wildflower Songwriting Contests, and Barry and Julianna were both finalists at Kerrville in 2002.
Oh yeah, he won on the Gong Show with his friends, Kerry and Anne...no, seriously
