BARRY IVAN WHITE & DIEZ PIANOS de MEXICO EUROPEAN SUMMER TOUR 2005

STUNNING!. POWERFUL!!.SENSATIONAL!!!!, are just a few of the terms used to describe a stellar performance by Barry Ivan White & Diez Pianos last year in Marbella. Barry arranged to have the group flown in from Mexico for a private event and this performance was the hit of the season.

This collaboration is a natural. Barry Ivan White, with his ample years of experience, performing and traveling around the world with The Platters and as a solo artist, says he immediately knew that this production was destined for major intenational stages and venues. "Just feeling the power and absolute passion in the delivery of Diez Pianos while singing with them, I knew we had to work together" said the robust souloperetic veteran entertainer. Barry and his staff at Promusica SA de CV in Mexico contacted Fernando Junco, creator and producer of DIEZ PIANOS 'El Show!", and began planning, structuring and brainstorming to create this unique fusion of R&B to Opera, Jazz to Salsa, Classical to Hip hop and almost everything in between. This show really covers so many musical genres that the audience is enticed to sit forward and listen through every musical curve and detour. Expect the unexpected from this bold harmonious collision of styles whose debri brings to the stage renditions of Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do", to Barry's uptempo arrangement of "The Impossible Dream", to the debut of a famous classical piece BamBammed (the producer) with hip hop head-boppin' flavor, then finishing with arrangments and vocals that conjure up visions of an onstage encounter of Sarah Brightman meet’s the Black Pavarotti. The collaboration also offers a slick mini medley in remembrance of the late Maestro Barry White, his musical godfather.

Barry Ivan White, known for the power of his bass to tenor voice, astonishes audiences when he throws the microphone away and projects with his naked voice to the last row, joined by….

Bio

Barry Ivan White, Entertainer/Producer

Born and raised in Miami Florida, the son of a local church minister, BARRY IVAN WHITE had an early introduction into the world of music. Within the church he began singing and taught himself to play the piano, guitar, bass and drums. His first public performance was at the age of three, and from it, a lifetime of touching hearts through music sprouted.

By the age of 14, BARRY had become choir director and minister of music, exhibiting a unique understanding of the technical side of musical expression as well as vocal harmonization. At the age of 17, Barry recorded his first album as part of a gospel choir. He then traveled with choirs throughout the United States singing with and opening for famous gospel performers such as Andrae Crouch, The Hawkins Family, The Winans, Shirley Cesar, Candi Staton, James Cleveland, Milton Biggham, and more.

After years of working in gospel music as an artist, producer, and promoter, BARRY IVAN WHITE made the transition to secular with Pop and Soul. He was immediately successful, performing with, presenting or representing great artists such as the late Maestro Barry White, En Vogue, Family Stand, Michael Cooper, The O’Jays, The Temptations, Levert, and others. He co-founded a record label (Tashari Records), producing a recording with female trio “C’est La Vie”.

In 1984, BARRY IVAN WHITE was invited by Barry Smith and Papa Jessie Ferguson to join the internationally renowned group “The Platters”. Now a veteran member of The Platters for over 20 years, BARRY has traveled the world and performed with a multitude of internationally famous artists and appeared in internationally and nationally televised programs. He has entertained a wide genre of people, and by virtue of his linguistic skills and performing, at will, in both English and Spanish, he has become a true cross-cultural entertainer.

Still a current member of The Platters, but limiting his tours to an accumulative 3 months a year, BARRY is having incredible success as a solo performer especially in private galas, corporate events, fundraisers, 5 Star Luxury Resorts (he calls them working vacations), and cultural events internationally. On the Latin music scene, he has appeared with Los Panchos with Rafael Basurto Lara, Dyango, Jose Jose, Lolita Ayala, Francisco Cespedes, David Torrenz, and Amaury Gutierrez to name a few. One of BARRY’s favorite and most memorable performances was in the Casa Arabesque in Acapulco for the Baron and Baroness Enrique and Sandra D’Portanova where he performed for Luis Miguel, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Ricky Martin, Henry Mancini, Shecky Green, Don Johnson, Melanie Griffith, Rebecca De Alba, and other dignitaries.

BARRY makes his home in Miami, and Cancun, Mexico, where he is highly regarded as an astonishing showman with a powerful and soulful vocal delivery which is always accompanied by his ever present charm and contagious smile. He travels an average 10 months each year performing seasonally in some of the worlds most acclaimed jet-set hot spots including Geneva, Marbella, South Beach, Acapulco, Palm Beach, Havana, Buenas Aires, Cancun and New York among others. One of the highlights of Barry’s 2004 performances was his (musical) production of what is whispered to have been one of the most stellar private events ever in Marbella’s super glam Gala history produced in a jet set mansion where in addition to the over 30 other musicians, singers, and dancers performing in the same evening, he flew in from Northern Mexico and introduced to Europe for the first time ever the nationally acclaimed show “Diez Pianos”. The show boasts some 20 musicians and singers onstage performing classical, jazz, gospel, Mexican and International standards. “DIEZ PIANOS” is an original one of a kind in the world production, created in Mexico with the participation of pianist from different parts of the world, but principally Mexicans. After enjoying the success of their joint performance in Marbella, Barry contracted “Diez Pianos” for a European summer tour BARRY IVAN WHITE & diez pianos de MEXICO and is producing and recording a like titled compact disc through his own production company, PROMUSICA SA de CV, to be released in May 2005.
