"Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College - February 2008"

Barry was fabulous, totally fabulous. You could have heard a pin drop in our usually noisy cafeteria. He really captured their attention. If I had any criticism it would be for Barry to end his presentation and then ask for questions. He went right into the questions and we never really got to applaud him.

I would definitely recommend him to anyone and hire him again.

Thanks for all your assistance. It was HUGE that we could video him. I think almost as many students viewed his DVD as saw him live. There was a huge interest in his topic; it was a great educational tool for our campus. Students had to check the DVD out of our library, view in the library, fill out an evaluation and return it. Some programs, like our nursing program, used it during class time too. - Edna Grotajhn Early, Director Student Life

"St Joseph's College - Brooklyn - February 2007"

Barry Scott's performance was terrific. So many of the students were genuinely moved and stayed afterwards to speak with him. As a matter of fact, one student has put up a poster board inviting comments and she intends to send it to Barry. He could not have been more cooperative. - Sherrie Van Arnam

"Doane College - January 2009"

The Barry Scott performance was a powerful voice that filled our auditorium during our MLK day celebration. His performance was well received by students, staff, and community members. Everyone was glued to their seat and his speech moved the audience physically and mentally.

It was a powerful testimony of his life as well as a motivating speech that helps college students remembers how far we have come. We would love to have Barry back at our institution, thank you once again for a great show.

Sincerely

Bio

An authority on the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Barry Scott created his tribute to Dr. King to teach a generation of students about one of American’s most violent and inspiring times and the man who mobilized a generation of people and changed the world.

Mr. Scott discusses Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement in his lecture and actually becomes Dr. King recreating some of his most inspiring speeches. Scott is so convincing in his portrayal of Dr. King, that the late Coretta Scott King once cornered him between acts of his performance to compliment him on his realistic and honest depiction of her late husband.

Mr. Scott performed Dr. King’s speeches for President Carter and in performing arts centers and college campuses across the country. A native of Nashville, Barry Scott is also the founder and artistic director of The American Negro Playwright Theatre.
