Headbangers will most likely hate this, but those of us who revel in groups like The Turtles, Love, The Left Banke, and other examples of psychedlia-tinged chamber rock will find this not only listenable but hugely enjoyable throughout. With its irrepressibly catchy melody and rhythmic impetus,"In My Weakest Moments" is best of show, but I am also inceasingly fond of the soothing "Pretty Daffodil".Other high points include the shimmering instrumentation on Night Whispers,"and the ingratiating melodic undertones of "Ladies Choice"and "Why Can't You Be True."I even like "September Rain,"featuring languid pedal steel guitar.
Bart Caruso displays many of the strengths of George Harrison_lush guitars-based arrangements and a keen melodic sense.Caruso also strongly reminds me of such Paul McCartney acolytes as Emmitt Rhodes of the L.A. based 60's psychedelic group The Merry Go Round.
Bart Caruso has been at it for years, but strangely enough, this collection of new stuff and Naked Lunch Box leftovers could be his breakthriogh.(Francis DiMenno) - The Noise "Rock Around Boston"

Bio
Bart Caruso has led both The Dharma Bums & Naked Lunch Box before going out under his own name. These bands were staples on the Boston scene, playing The Paradise,The Middle East,T.T the Bears, among many others.Bob Dylan and Neil Young were major influences on the more "roots" orriented Dharma Bums. As Caruso's song writing progressed a wider stylistic sound came in(Naked Lunch Box drummer Rick Klane had a jazz background) Today the songs seamlessly incorporate the chordal and rythmic changes used in later day Beatle song.
