Bio

Barton Hartshorn is a singer-songwriter currently living in Paris. Although none of his albums would be called concept albums, each one carries a distinct theme and represents a travelogue of sorts, a record of journeys real and imagined.
‘Headquarter café’ (2012) takes place in the fictional land of Ampersand and tells of the rise to power of a musician come dictator.
The songs on ’I died of boredom & came back as me’ (2017) came about through a year spent working in kitchens in Australia.
‘Twelvemonth’ (2018) is a music & song cycle to accompany the novel ‘Necessary to life’ by Louisa Leontiades. It documents life choices made and time spent on the Swedish island of Brännö.

Born in Manchester, England, Barton has toured with other acts as a drummer (Angus Stone, Gossling, Bo) and produces his albums and those of other artists in his Paris studio.
He is also the lead singer and songwriter from the group ‘Dictafone’.
