Bart Thrupp

Bart Thrupp is a storyteller at heart. With his Folk/Pop melodies, Aussie charm and songs that everyone can relate to, he’s been captivating audiences across the country.

Bart’s latest release, recorded at Tall Poppy, is the toe-tapping single, “Everything You Own”. A rousing homage to Aussie mateship, with echoes of Paul Kelly, this song has struck a chord with fans. It was also particularly popular at Bluesfest and has already sold over 500 copies.

Roma born and raised in Toowoomba, Bart has landed support slots for a number of acclaimed musicians including; Clare Bowditch, Jack Jones, Kev Carmody, Dave Faulkner, Stephen Cummings, Daryl Braithwaite and Rose Tattoo, just to name a few.

With a one-man-band stage setup – he simultaneously juggles acoustic guitar, vocals, stomp box, harmonica, foot tambourine, and even cowbell. His dynamic live shows have made Bart a popular fixture on the east-coast circuit and have garnered the attention of judges and audiences alike in a series of local and national competitions.

Some recent successes include a local win in the Telstra Road to Discovery Competition which took Bart to Sydney to compete in the Semi-finals, and then through to the Grand Final at the TRECC (Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre) as part of the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Performing in the finals of the Bluesfest Busking Competition at The Beach Hotel in Byron Bay, Bart scored himself a spot at the Byron Bay Bluesfest, where he was once again a hit with the punters and industry alike.

In 2011 Bart was approached by CFM Radio to feature on their morning programme. Soon after, his live recording of “Girl in the Fishbowl” began receiving regular airplay; the popularity of the song leading to the recording of his first solo 3-track single, which has now sold 1500 units.

The “Girl in the Fishbowl” Music Video was shot in August, released in October, and received over 3,000 views on YouTube in its first day alone.

A music video is currently in pre-production for the latest 3-track “Everything You Own”, which features a warm mix of ukulele and harmonica beneath Bart’s soaring vocals, a radio-friendly combination that is sure to appeal to a wider audience.

To support the release of “Everything You Own” Bart is touring nationally.
