Formed in 2004 with a debut at the Tonder Festival, Basco is an unavoidable phenomenon on the Scandinavian folk music scene. Whether performing as a quartet or with the Danish Radio Bigband, Basco's energy, virtuosity and inventiveness have gained the hearts and minds of audiences all over Europe. Short-listed for the prestigious Nordic Music Prize in 2014 for their album "The Remarkable Return of Old Man Basco", as the first folk string-band ever. Basco has also been very respectably represented on the podium at the Danish Folk Music Awards, most recently with Artist of the Year 2013 (Ale), and Vocalist of the Year 2012 (Hal).
