Bio

Basilica’s powerful and imaginative debut album “Sins of the Flesh” was released in the UK on 28th June 2004. Mixing inventive melodic Alt Rock and Gothic influences with leftfield and electronic vibes the album takes you on a sonic journey through the life and times of a female serial killer.

The album is out on Basilica’s own self-titled label, Basilicamusic and is distributed by Pro-Sonic/Plastic Head. It features the impressive songwriting of multi-instrumentalist Paul Kirkpatrick and the soothing vocals of Adelle Kirk, the 23 year old former Kirk & Kushty member whose alluring voice intensifies the dark, sometimes disturbing quality of the songs.

The consequence is an album of deeply emotional soundscapes bathed in contrasting dynamics, intelligent lyrics, cool melodies and an imaginative mixing of styles and sounds

The music has certainly struck a chord with radio programmers across an unusually wide cross-section of UK radio. Among those who have given the album the thumbs up are GWR, Kiss, BBC 6 Music, The Storm, Radio 2XS, BCB and Phoenix FM plus a variety of regional stations.

The album is also gaining international airplay in Australia, USA, New Zealand, Canada, Germany , Brazil and Russia.

Sins of the Flesh, is gathering momentum with distributor Pro-Sonic reporting pre-orders from all the key High Street chains. It is also available online from all major outlets and from www.basilicamusic.com

Basilica have also signed a Digital Distribution deal with Turmic Records to make the album available to download at Napster, iTunes etc and have teamed up with Belgium visual software company Arkaos to produce their promo video for “Crushed” from the album.

The band are currently working on the follow up album "13th Station" which is taking the Basilica sound to a whole new level. They recently sold out The Garage in London twice where they showcased the new powerful Basilica sound and road tested the new material using a full band line up. The new album will be released in 2007
