No matter where they go in the world, people tell the sisters that they've never heard or seen anything like it, that they have a completely unique sound and perform with what seems to be an inexhaustible energy. That's Baskery's aim, to never stop surprising.
Baskery is a band built on what three people can do together. The music is not to be confused with country or bluegrass just because the instrumentation involves a double bass, a six string banjo and acoustic guitar. The trio is not bound to any genre and want to to keep it that way.
It's all there in the live act, cause it is real. The three sisters can't recall when or why they started playing, the music’s always just been there. "Performing live has become the most natural thing to us". That’s where the high energy level on stage hails from, a pure and reckless love to the art of performing music.
In their late teens the sisters joined forces with their dad, who since decades was a one man band playing old blues and country tunes for a living. They got introduced to the music business in a quite unglamorous way: "We played cover songs in pubs and bars, still we never played songs we didn't like just to please the crowd". This foundation of classic "roots music and Americana" settled in their hearts, but also awoke the urge of breaking the rules of traditional music. Baskery is all about turning the music on its head, blending the straightforwardness of punk with the subtlety of singer/songwriting.
Since 2008 touring has been essential to Baskery, and they've been returning to the US and Canada on a yearly basis to play festivals and clubs. They've also been invited to showcase at both SXSW and Folk Alliance twice. 2013 they played Four Corners Folk Festival, CO, and brought down a storm, so they are now asked to come back for 2014.
Baskery has released two full length albums, "New Friends" (2011), ten songs partly delivered on the road, and "Fall Among Thieves" (2008), an album recorded completely live in the studio. Both received great acclaims from the press all over Europe. The third one ”Little Wild Life” is produced by Matt Wignall from Long Beach, CA and is due to release fall 2013.

Trivia:
In 2011 they received the "STIM Scholarship" for their songwriting skills. STIM is Swedens’s one and only song writers’ association, the equivalent to ASCAP and BMI.
Since 2008 Baskery has consistently received grants from the Swedish Arts Council (Statens Kulturråd) for international touring exchanges and for production of their albums.

Baskery has successfully toured all over the world, performing at festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Woodford (AUS), SXSW (US), Portland Waterfront Blues Festival (US), Calgary Folk (CAN), California World Fest (US), Lowlands (NL), Azkena Rock (ES), Storsjöyran (SWE), Bergen Fest (NOR), Toender (DK) Shrewsbury Folk Festival (UK), Four Corners Folk Festival, (US), Sisters Folk Festival, (US) and many more.

The upcoming album:
Little Wild Life was recorded in an old dance studio in Berlin, Germany. During the ten days of recording the three sisters of Baskery worked with Long Beach based producer Matt Wignall (Mando Diao, Cold War Kids, J.Roddy) to create an album laced in analogue atmosphere, backed up by big room vibes and ruled by their common heroes spontaneity and groove.
The eleven songs take you through different stages in life, observed but not necessarily experienced by the band members themselves. Because this time it is life itself that gets celebrated and mourned, not the ego.
Baskery's third full length album represents the sisters' wish and ability to renew and refine, to never dwell in any particular genre, but to do what they do best which is pick and mix wildly between them to create their own, unique sound.
