Electronic rock: fusion of alternative rock and dance/electronica

Biography

Battery's unique sound lends itself to a groovy electronic/acoustic live show. Jon, Battery's songwriter, vocalist, and keyboardist, fuses rock and dance influences from 80s New Wave through today's post-rock and big beat electronica.

Eric, who currently plays with some other cool projects like the metal group Sage, adds the sonic texture and power of an acoustic kit to Battery's sequenced rhythms.

Crash

Written By: Jon Seymour

organized and optimized, your processes are striking
everything's assigned a channel, programmed to your liking
part of you likes to be remote, the other part likes control
but still you live on the edge my friend, you're on a roll

youre gonna
crash into a million pieces with no chance of release from your jury
crash into the wild blue yonder you cannot get beyond her surely
crash into the helpless shoreline with all of your borderline fury

part of you knows it's dangerous here, but the other part can't let go
part of you is tired as hell but the other part's raring to go
part of you loves imagination, that part of you can't sit still
i can't keep you from your intentions and I don't know who will

youre gonna
crash into a million pieces with no chance of release from your jury
crash into the wild blue yonder you cannot get beyond her surely
crash into the helpless shoreline with all of your borderline fury

[bridge]

you can still crash my party if you hurry

part of you knows it's a matter of time, part of you is in denial
part of you feels crystal clear and part of you can't stand trial
part of you retains precision, but part of you is getting sloppy
your sea is getting choppy

crash into a million pieces with no chance of release from your jury
crash into the wild blue yonder you cannot get beyond her surely
crash into the helpless shoreline with all of your borderline fury

crash into the brickyard wall with no restraint at all aren't you worried?
crash into the next dimension will you pay attention I'm worried
crash into a cold dark night will you pick up the horizon it's blurry

The Score

Written By: Jon Seymour

I know you better than you know yourself

you're gonna scratch and claw and fight for more
like a boxer on the ropes just before he hits the floor
you're gonna kick and scream and beg for more
you'll never rest until you settle your score

you're gonna scratch and claw and bite for more
like the scorpion with a deathwish that never makes it ashore
you're gonna kick and scream and plead for more
you make no sense but that doesn't matter anymore

you're gonna scratch and claw and beg for more
an experimental rat in the cage next door
you're gonna kick and scream and yell for more
you've long since forgotten what you're yelling for

I know you better than you know yourself

you're gonna kick and scream and cry for more
Like the kindergarten class in the candy store
What's the score now?

Progress

Written By: Jon Seymour

progress making progress i can find you anywhere
but you don't care in fact you're hiding out there what's the problem where's your answer

movin forward movin toward the big grand prize
movin forward movin toward our own demise

progress making progress i can blow up anything
that problem over there can vanish into thin air for our country for our children

movin forward movin toward the big grand prize
movin forward movin toward our own demise
movin forward lookin forward signs abound
movin forward looking forward to turning around

progress making progress i can download your id
how did we avoid strife with such an analog life can't remember why remember

movin forward looking forward dont look back
movin forward looking forward its vision we lack
movin forward looking forward signs abound
movin forward looking forward to turning around

progress making progress i can cure you completely
analyze your genes make you into a machine or a prophet for a profit

movin forward movin toward the better ways
movin forward movin toward the end of days

movin forward looking forward signs abound
movin forward looking forward to turning around

movin forward looking forward signs abound
movin forward looking forward to turning around

movin forward looking forward signs abound
movin forward looking forward to turning around

Too Good

Written By: Jon Seymour

got caught up in the bubble i was a millionaire
then watched my fortune vanish into thin air
how am I to earn my stripes
when I get caught up in the hype

too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up back then

got set up on a blind date i was a lucky man
but laid my eyes upon her then I turned and ran
how am I to quench my thirst
when every day is april first

too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up back then
too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up again

too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up back then
too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up again

I was king of the hill and I got overthrown
missed my numbers my optimism's overblown
how am i to not get fooled
when I am always overruled

too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up back then
too too good to be true true once again where have I been?
coulda known shoulda known shoulda grown up again

Sidekick

Written By: Jon Seymour

I've had a long run out there all alone
never answering to any voices but my own
but after a thousand laps around the track
I caught up to you at the front of the pack

be my sidekick be my wingman
without you my grand ambitions never have a chance
be my companion be my confidante
be the one who knows the things I really really want
be my backup be my rhyme
be my ever present sweet harmonic chime
be my setup man be my closer
you can never count the win until it's over

you never know what alley you'll walk down
you never know who'll be there when you turn around
no way to know what lies ahead
you might be happy, you might be

be my robin be my boy wonder
do you know the kind of pressure that i'm under
be my dark side be my alter-ego
be my ever present anti-superhero
be my partner in crime be ready on a dime
there's something going on out there all the time
be my sidekick be my revolver
be my extra-special deadly problem solver

double double cauldron bubble have my back when I'm in trouble
be my slave be my master whatever it takes to avoid disaster
i'm not even sure what i'm after

be my wingman be my sidekick
be my ever present raging alcoholic
be my confidante be my brother
be the one who knows my secrets like no other
be my harmony be my rhyme
our duet is sounding sweeter all the time
be my setup man be my closer
you can never count the win until it's over
be my partner be my raging bull
without you my operation's not sustainable
be my colleague be my apprentice
be the one who always knows what my intent is
be my student be my protege
be the one who carries on when I've had my day
