Bio

Bat Wings for Lab Rats is a genre bending rock band that incorporates elements of hip hop, punk rock, ska, and psychedelic rock into its signature style, dubbed “Punk-Hop-A-Delic.” The band is made up of four members: Brandon Atencio (lead vocals), Rob Nakai (guitar and vocals), Mark Jackson-Weaver (drums), and Phillip Ortiz (bass). Bat Wings for Lab Rats' one of a kind musical style emphasizes catchy songwriting, thoughtful lyrics, and a penchant for the unpredictable.

After several successful headlining performances in the Albuquerque area, as well as a gig opening up for Kottonmouth Kings at the Albuquerque Convention Center, the band released its debut album, entitled “Punk-Hop-A-Delic” in July 2010. The album release party was held at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Bat Wings For Lab Rats played to a capacity crowd. The band is currently writing material for a second release, along with plans for a full length DVD of concert footage, backstage antics, and music videos, all due in 2011. A national tour is also in the works for summer 2011.
