Bio

Coming straight out of north Houston with undeniable talent and originality, Bayou Monster is a powerful four-piece rock 'n' roll band that has proven their strength in live performances over the years, as well as in their stellar debut CD.
After a couple of years toying around in high school in the drummer's cramped bedroom jamming Hendrix and Metallica tunes, Josh, Richie, and Sparky had to part ways for college. The boys got back together the summer after and started jamming and writing original material but still lacked a bass player. After meeting Omar and inviting him over to jam, the guys knew he was the one for the job.
The band came up with the name "The Rising" and dove right in to the Houston music scene playing their own brand of rock 'n' roll at local venues. It wasnt long after their first gig that The Rising would open for the likes of Johnny Winter, Doyle Bramhall Sr., Del Castillo, Back Door Slam, Carolyn Wonderland and many more.
The band continued to write and finally scrounged together enough money to start recording their debut album. For almost a full year in and out of Rock Romano's Red Shack Studios, the ten-song, all-orignal album was ready to be pressed. There was one problem. The band name "The Rising" had been taken. The guys had to think of a solution quick!
At their CD Release Party in July 2008, at the end of the set, they announced their new band name, BAYOU MONSTER, and unveiled the new CD with the title "The Rising" paying tribute to the past (and to ease the minds of the fans who we're shocked by the name change.) Since then, the CD has recieved rave reviews and their audience has gotten bigger and bigger at every show.
The band is currently getting new material together as well as looking out for proffesional management and a relatively fair record label.
